Contract renewals and extensions

I think that's a bit rash, Pearce and Downes at least have tried their best, every game was the same. These are who I'd keep:

Rice - Would work well at Conference for a cheap wage.
Downes - Consistent player with experience behind him.
Pearce - High quality, however perhaps expensive and would be in a league too low for his ability, would be nice to keep though
Harding - I watched him at Northampton and given the right style of play he is a good player.
Cameron - He's got potential, someone with quick feet can be useful when directed properly.

And that's all, a total refreshment wouldn't do us any harm I don't think.

Goodbye Football League....Hello Conference

Yeah most likely, however, if this was the case surely he'd be seeing his kids rather than going on the radio? It just seems a bit odd to me, going back to a club you've managed while you're 'on holiday'.

Goodbye Football League....Hello Conference

Just incase you hadn't heard, according to radio devon Paul Buckle was there assisting the commentary team. Now what would an American boy like him be doing at a virtually relegated club like ours?

Player to bring in (suggestions)

Once again, glass half empty boys... It will be fine, from the looks of things Knill has a good judgement on players :) as long as we don't actually sign a blind midfielder... Then again he might be like the daredevil and have super senses ;-)

Re: Player to bring in (suggestions)

Totally agree with Matt here. To be honest, it just sounds like a load of old men with too much time on their hands squabbling over something that can't be answered :)
Personally I think knill is probably one of the most intelligent managers we've had here, not to mention his insight into the future with prospects such as Bodin, Thompson, Yeoman, Cameron etc. I trust Knill much more than I did Ling, and I think we're in for a good season of football!

Looking forward the benefit of pacy wingers on Fifa 14 too :P

Sam.

What was it i said? "Lack of attacking options"?

Much earlier in the season I felt that we lacked upfront, and many disagreed. But now, wouldn't you say I was right? We lack upfront! What are you're views? Not saying i'm superior or godlike or anything, but to me, it seems right:)

Re: Goal scoring. That's what its all about!!

I have found it although real sitters have been missed, much of the goals in the league seem to be on the edge of the box, through players spotting a gap in the defence, keeping their composure and hitting it with a bit of venom whilst keeping it down, and that, in my opinion: is what we lack- somebody with the balls to have a go and not get over-excited, like Niall does occasionally (no offence to him he's a great prospect) and sends it howling over the bar. That's what I feel anyways :)

Re: Still in need of a forward, and I was disagreed with...

I didn't say we were struggling with the starting 11, like I said- the bench, itself, is weak in terms of forwards, Jarvis is a support striker, Howe is totally different. What I'm saying is, when Howe isnt there, who will be the one threatening to hit the net? You can't rely on wingers every game. Christ, stop with the patronising tone!

Still in need of a forward, and I was disagreed with...

Said a few weeks back that we don't have enough in terms of a forward line, when Howe isn't having his day who do we have? Jarvis? Jarvis looks less creative than maths teacher to be quite honest, so is there not a problem?

Re: Lack of attacking options..

What I meant by this post was not the fact that we have lost Eunan, sad to see him go but I thought people expected way too much of him like a chance would just come out of thin air- but I was more meaning not having two strikers to keep the ball upfield. Yes 4-3-3 is all well and good when your team is pressing an is more dominant but when recieving threats from more dominant teams (such as Leeds today) it seems to fall into more of a 4-5-1 and it's hard to fight back having just Howe in the middle of the pitch. It was only in the second half that we had a little more confidence and actually became a threat. If we played a 4-4-2 it would be more balanced and reliable, because the ball could be held upfield better by passing between strikers and also you would have two players built for striking the ball. Your replies have been great and I look forward to few more! And the somewhat sarcastic comment and the start was one of irrelevance, because Bodin is clearly a winger, not a striker :) Peace out<3

Lack of attacking options..

I have thought, for all of last season and by the looks of the Tiverton game, that the squad has one striker too short! You can play much more threatening football with two strikers up front and with the squad we have at the moment- it would be a risky move because what if either Rene or Ryan got injured? Do you think another striker is needed and if so, who?

I'd like to see a yellow shirt with blue sleeves and thin vertical blue lines down it! Blue shorts and yellow socks?
