Unfortunately, there is always a very odd sort of insecure fan who feels threatened by other fans “getting above their station”.SuperNickyWroe wrote: ↑12 May 2024, 10:38 What is it with you and TUST?
You are a complete bell.
I'm part of TUST like many other supporters - and I'd TrUST any of us more than I'd trust you.

Osborne gone!
...."and the award for stupidest, most-deranged forum post of the decade goes to..."TorquayUnited wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 16:49 So TUST you have what you have wanted from the start.
So let's see now what you come with won't we.
TUST has the money in the bank to pay by end of May the 250 grand to make sure we fulfill our fixtures in 24/25 haven't you??
Otherwise why protest and want him out.
TUST killed the club all because they don't want a new ground and make the club money.
AFC Torquay sharing the rugby ground can do 1.
Buckland, Truro, and Newton Abbott Spurs and Plymouth Parkway are all laughing if you think you going to start up there.
Well done TUST for killing the club.

Osborne gone!
I echo the comments already made about a points reduction being the least of our worries. Unless Osborne writes-off the debt the club owes to him, it's difficult to see how a consortium could get the club back on its feet: they'd need to invest £5m just to pay off the existing debt, and that's without even setting aside finances to keep the club operating in the medium-to-long term.

Anybody else watching the match stream finding that the picture has turned to crap in the second half? The NL graphics look fine, so I'm assuming the problem is the video feed from Plainmoor.

I am. Crapped out briefly just before kick-off, but seems OK now. Not sure whether the problem was at their end or mine. As an aside, the Bench and the Family Stand look pretty threadbare, which isn't too surprising, I suppose.

Ali’s red card
Starts with a clean sheet, I believe. Pre-season friendlies count for nothing. In fact, the commos were saying yesterday that they'd seen friendlies in the past where reds had been handed out but it was agreed that no one would actually leave the field.

Torquay vs Bromley 5/03/2022
Full disclosure: I wasn't at the match, so I'm basing my opinion on the TV replay I saw on BT Sport just now, but the red looked very harsh to me. The Bromley player went down like he'd been sniped, there was another Torquay player providing cover + it wasn't a denial of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity. BUT, it was naive of Joe to put himself in that position and he was taking a serious chance (that didn't pay off) that the Bromley player wouldn't take a dive.

Out of interest, does anyone know what's happened to Gabby Rogers? He hasn't even made the bench for the last couple of games. Injured, or severely out of favour?

If he isn't fully fit for some reason, then the decision to start with Holman and Lolos is a bit worrying. Armstrong has been stuck up front by himself. Should at least give him the opportunity to play upfront alongside another forward.Nick Potkins wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 14:42 Armstrong - I would guess only a knock to his confidence and Gary managing him.
Evans - Missing again, becoming worrying.

Armstrong on the bench with Homan/Lolos up front. Has Armstrong taken a bit of a knock?

January Changes.
Because that's the point when EFL clubs will be looking to bring in new players and get rid of others, which they can't really do at the moment.Plainmoor78 wrote: ↑25 Nov 2021, 20:46 I don't know why everyone is looking forward to January, there is no restriction on National League clubs (with the exception of Wrexham) signing players at any point of the season.
As an aside, this talk of getting rid of Gary Johnson is nuts. We're bloody lucky to have a manager of his calibre. The problems we're having are because we didn't recruit well, for various reasons (most of which are not the fault of GJ). Even if one wants to believe that he's recruited poorly and it's his fault, that's not reason enough to get rid of him. That's done and can't be changed. He's recruited very, very well previously and there's no reason to think that he won't again.

While it was very much a small minority of fans (most people seemed to be looking at each other and saying variations of "WTF?" when the booing started), it was disgraceful and absolutely unwarranted. The mentality baffles me. Do these morons seriously think that professional footballers have no sense of when they're having a bad game? You know, like they might think they're playing absolutely brilliantly were it not for the vocal feedback of the tactical footballing geniuses in the stand?forevertufc wrote: ↑14 Nov 2021, 09:31
What angered me, was to hear little got booed yesterday, had to turn off Facebook last night also. Why do some fans think that paying the entrance fee gives them the right to act, and react to players in whichever manner they see fit ?
One fan said " we weren't booing Little, just the decision to give him motm" Well then you were booing the player.
They honestly think that paying for a ticket gives them an unfettered right to abuse and shout at players. If they honestly believe that, then their moral compasses are **** and there's no reasoning with them.
