Re: Nicky Wroe on his way!??
So, after all the kerfuffle, he's not going to Rotherham after all. Why oh why do I trust my source of information!

As for the armband, I'm 99% certain Manse was captain.
I seem to remember, that when Ellis signed his new contract one of the things mentioned was that he would be vice captain (if that's the correct word in football).
So untill all this kerfuffle with Wroe is sorted, maybe Ellis should be captain...or is it to early for him? :?

Re: Crewe vs Torquay Match Thread
Having looked through all the posts on this thread...goodness, i'm becoming like SouthamptonGull! ...there is one glaring omission~no one has mentioned that our barn door missing forwards have failed yet again. With a decent striker it would have been another three points in the bag. What is the point of putting Gritton on the field~might as well dig up Gracie Fields and put her up front!
With a bit of luck a very short sighted conference manager will take SNW ( no, not the little fat one from Barnsley ) from us, thereby freeing up some wages so as we can get a bloody striker!

Third 'aint bad for a defender!

Re: Joe Oastler
I would imagine Ellis moving on is pretty much "Written in Stone" with the latest budget cuts! So hopefully, this guy can do a job for us there.
He might even give SNW a run for his money in midfield!

You beat me to it Barnsley, but I was going to say something more technical. When all it needed was something simple...then again, you'd be good at that!

Re: JPT - Swindon vs Torquay
It's obvious from the team that has been put out, that Buckle now realises that you can't win a war on two fronts...it's a pity Hitler didn't. Otherwise we wouldn't have the immigrant problem we have at the moment~oops...did I say that.
Anyway being two down, we can now move on to the league...why do I know that we've lost this game? Simple...we don't have anyone who can score goals!

I actually agree with you 100% (shock, horror )
Dave, money wasn't put aside, hence the 100k cut in the playing budget, as HoH says, that would have paid for the striker I know we were very very interested in. In my mind, this has put us back a year, which some might say isn't a bad thing, but I disagree, we have ambitious players, players we might be able to keep hold of if we were in with a chance of promotion, maybe that would also include the manager, we all know he's ambitious too.
Colin Lee deserves nothing but disdain in my book, he did well out of us, I am of the opinion that we did well in spite of him. Others may disagree but for all his meddling I'll stand by my opinion of the man.
