National League - Bromley FC v Torquay United - Saturday 10 October 2020 - 3.00pm kick-off

Looks like a decent lineup all things considered. Warren, Buse and Koszela to come on late to protect the lead and add some pace up front against tiring defenders... :)

Torquay United v Chorley 29/2/20

Hopefully game is on and if Andrews can slot in to Littles place we should be good for the three points. Plus it looks like Frankie Vincent could be back on the bench 😁

To be fair I'm sure last time he was here he played out wide more than up front. And even if he does play upfront for us I'd rather see him doing the hard work holding up the ball and distracting defenders so that Reidy can score more.

culmstockgull wrote: 11 Feb 2020, 16:01 Cameron is the wrong side of 25, he is not a boy, with his pedigree he should be playing at a higher level , but he is not and there is a very good reason for that, as for Cundy one week he can have a blinder next week a shocker, each week they have to put in the performance or else as we have seen in recent weeks they will be side-lined and only brought back because there is no alternative.
Cameron has only recently turned 23! Not a kid sure, but I would say in terms of a developing footballer thats very much the right side of 25!

According to Soccerway the boy has a career total of 23 league goals in 9077 minutes, an approximate average of one goal in every four and a bit matches. According to Soccerbase he has only started 85 league games for the 10 different clubs he's played for in the last seven years. At 26 years old this could well be last chance saloon at kick-starting a career. This isn't some kid looking for experience he should be starting to hit his peak about now.

Next Season.

Keep Shaun MacDonald as a number two, look for a senior experienced keeper who can be first choice and mentor MacDonald.
Keep Ben Wynter, Liam Davis (assuming he can prove his fitness) and Kyle Cameron. Try to sign Warren permanently and Joe Lewis on loan again. Try and get Longridge back on loan again too.
Keep Hall, Buse, Little, Andrews.
Keep Whitfield and Kalala
Keep Jamie Reid
Keep Slough, Koszela and Lewington and continue their development.

Lemonhaigh-Evans seems to have stalled of late, would be happy to see him back, maybe permanently if he can rediscover his form between now and the end of the season.
Let Covolan go. Age is not on his side and he just isn't good enough for a promotion chasing side.
Let Nemane go. I don't think we can carry him and Kalala and I think on his day Kalala does more.
Let Cundy go. He has potential but needs more work and we can't afford to be the team to do that if we are chasing promotion.

Confused about 2 million pounds investment

CO has loaned the club that money, make no mistake that he will want it back which means we are stuck with him for the foreseeable future, anyone else looking to buy the club is going to need at least 4 or 5 million just to buy it, pay the debt and cover running costs for the first year.

aggrey_25 wrote: 30 Jan 2020, 09:27 the facts are simple, 5 squad players and two of which have been highlighted to support Reid moving forward this season.

Lewington was in the squad last week and played a part so if he is the answer to our prayers we are in trouble, simple fact is we need a forward and ideally a target man.

my points are valid because i have played the game, i have been involved in football for some time and know the running of the club/infrastructure... so armchair is way off!!
Okay. So if not armchair, then agenda. If you are a former TUFC Chief Exec or DoF then it's a big agenda!

Koszela is still young. Lewington has been out for a while under concussion protocol. Hopefully they'll both get 90 minutes tonight against Tavistock.

Richinns wrote: 29 Jan 2020, 13:38 I can only reasonably assume some Torquay 'fans' just enjoy/wish the club to burn.

An offer of mid-table in the National League (closer to the playoffs than the relegation zone) 18 months ago would have any fan wishing the best for the club rejoicing.

Yet some are now campaigning for blood from the best coaching set-up that we have had in many young fans living memories.

Simply disgusting in my book.

Joe Lewis, Armani Little, Frankie Vincent, Matt Buse, Kalvin Kalala, Robbie Cundy, Ben Whitfield. All good signings.
Wasted a whole month with no forward? What? We still have Reid, Lewington, Koszela and for most of the month we had Keating.
If we sign Harvey then we have a player who we know if half decent and should fit in to our team quite well.

aggrey_25 wrote: 29 Jan 2020, 12:02 personally i don't believe that the people they have been looking at will have any substance and it will be desperate.

look at peter johnson's current record... former south devon league player, Duku who we released half way through the season.... the rest have been terrible loans for no more than a month.

where has this Chester striker rumour come from and same goes for Reid, the fact we are now essentially in February and wasted a whole month with no forward is shocking from the manager and the board and recruitment .

IF we end up with Harvey i will be proven right and Peter Johnson should leave with immediate effect

Two days of the League window for them to buy Reid, we can still sign players after.
As for Reid being our only saleable asset, give Wynter, Little, Andrews and Whitfield another twelve months and I'm sure there will be clubs sniffing around them too.

aggrey_25 wrote: 29 Jan 2020, 10:03 so Johnson finally comes out and says we missed out on a forward blaming it on "mad January"

clearly desperate because there is no back up plan... almost a week since he promised this forward and in this time we have released to squad players.

whoever made up these Reid rumours how concrete are these because we are going to be in a relegation battle soon and with Barrow coming up there is only one outcome from that game....
We're 8 points above the drop zone, only 5 off the play-offs. Next up we have Barrow, a team who haven't lost a league game since we beat them three months ago on 26th October, would you like to make a gentleman's wager that we'll beat them again? We ourselves haven't lost a league game since the 1st of this month.
