Stoke lose millions, but blame the accountant, nothing to do with the Bet365 owners. Chelsea lose billions, but.......get my drift.
Starting to embarrass yourself Gull, with the hatred for the staff working under COs instructions
You're attempt to belittle him is flawed. Here is why. Mel was a Director of the club, with Accountancy experience (But not the clubs/CO's Accountant) Do you see the difference WBW, get my drift?? He is even pointing it out to you, For one she's... and secondly She's...(Highlighted for you above)
Therefore, in theory, she was meant to have a say in the running of the club and with her Accountancy experience, should have being sounding a warning bell or had a much better influence, a long time ago about how the club was being run and the amount being spent.
Do i need to explain the difference to you further? in that you are trying to sound clever by saying that the Accountant for Man City would not be directly to blame (ie making the spending decisions) for City losing millions, or are you perhaps feeling embarrassed enough yourself now? I doubt it because you don't seem the type to be able to comprehend the point i'm making to you anyway.
Also, before you go there, yes I'm sure Dave can answer for himself, but he didn't call you out for your obvious nonsense in his last post to you, so I'm saying it. Furthermore, addressing Dave as Gull shows how little class you have and there is no way you are a genuine Torquay fan.

Also, ask him who had the bright idea of implementing the suicidal cheap season ticket deal that ultimately brought about the opportunity for Osborne to acquire the club in the first place. Of course he knows this but his task on here is to deflect the blame from those who deserve it. Quite simply he is trolling the forum as observd by another reputable poster.

The way forward without a new stadium?
I see no reason why we couldn't successfully copy the model Exeter Trust have created and I think Kevin is right in what he's suggesting. There is a lot more that we can do in the community, to benefit and also raise funds.
I also believe we can get more than 1000, a lot more, if as things progress, we are faced with fan owned as the only option. We seem to be a 2nd club to a lot of people who have visited Plainmoor over the years whilst on holiday. In addition, it's not just the attendance figures we need to use to gauge potential because so many people leave the area for work or other life reasons and cannot attend but remain 100% Torquay.
If we actively promoted the fan ownership on a large scale we could even attract new interest. Maybe there are a lot of fans of premier League clubs who are fed up with the ticket prices or the lack of connection they may feel with their club nowadays?
I wonder if a deal could be done with a Hotel chain or a few local hotels where members are entitled to a large discount on rooms during the football season? When hotels are typically quieter during the winter months

Osborne gone!
From Pasoti.
"All I am saying is that the accounting convention stated in successive yearly accounts do not appear to have been applied. There may be a reason for it but it all seems as you say 'fishy'.
Argyle's plant and machinery value in their 2023 accounts, by comparison, was shown as £221,865 as opposed to TUFC's £2,731,691. I think that says it all. TUFC's value of plant and machinery in their accounts is more than ten times Argyle's - really!"

Where's the money going?
Think it’s time to start letting the info you have come out because they are still there and no one is clear on where the money raised is going. On the Pasoti forum advice is, do not trust a word that comes out of the official site. And they’ve been through it.Southampton Gull wrote: ↑23 Feb 2024, 20:03 Edwards and Hayman were there today. If they dare to show their ugly mugs tomorrow I hope they get what they deserve. The sooner they slink off the better. Hayman has a lot to answer for and in time I will make sure everything comes out so people can clearly see the type of person she really is.

The whole catering and drinks options have been massively lacking for years, it wouldn’t be difficult to improve it 10 times over, and bring some much better options inBrewers boy wrote: ↑26 Feb 2024, 19:23 If the guy on the tea bar in the corner at Bristows can't up his game and speed things up, then rent a space for a burger van. 20 minute queue for a cuppa is no fun. How many look at the queue and don't bother?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that at this level, It's legal to have a beer whilst watching the game. Certainly at Weston there was no problem taking your plastic glass outside to drink and watch.

Southampton Gull wrote: ↑24 Feb 2024, 10:35 Not quite true. Because of Osborne's involvement another interested party walked away. The cheap season ticket deal was what nearly killed the club which enabled Osborne to waltz through the doors. Ask yourself who had the bright idea of making sure the consortium became cash strapped. Let's not start seeing Osborne as some kind of saviour, he's a ruthless businessman and we're well shot of him.

Certainly will be useful to understand a bit more about what been going on. I felt that she was perhaps trapped in the headlights a bit, especially on the sofa episode we endured, trapped and silenced by the monthly salary. Seems I may have been wrong about that.Southampton Gull wrote: ↑24 Feb 2024, 11:19 You do know, you've just not twigged yet. Facts are not rumours.

A genuine person wishing to offer their expertise, who cares about saving clubs would not have been put off by one fan comment in a fan forum, also the response you seem to have taken such offence to was pretty tame and was a reasoned and lengthy enough bit of text.Yeofan wrote: ↑24 Feb 2024, 10:05 As I was already on here before CO pulled the plug, It was a good place to start for a bit of DD, and in business you often learn the most before you show your hand.
I hate seeing clubs going to the wall, and am pleased to have been able to play my part in helping avert it on a few occasions. I'm delighted that you seem to have a buyer lined up, and that any help I could have given isn't wanted. As I have already posted several times I wish you all the best and hope it works out.
A genuine person wishing to help would perhaps have reached out directly to the supporters trust or the club.
A genuine person wishing to help and provide their experience and expertise, would have announced this as their intention as part of their introduction to then follow on with genuine questions.
You did none of those. You are not genuine, just attention seeking .

I know for a fact that isn't true, I have been in contact and they were open to a discussion. But we should try to avoid needing to play elsewhere as a priority.TorquayUnited wrote: ↑22 Feb 2024, 16:49 So TUST you have what you have wanted from the start.
So let's see now what you come with won't we.
TUST has the money in the bank to pay by end of May the 250 grand to make sure we fulfill our fixtures in 24/25 haven't you??
Otherwise why protest and want him out.
TUST killed the club all because they don't want a new ground and make the club money.
AFC Torquay sharing the rugby ground can do 1.
Buckland, Truro, and Newton Abbott Spurs and Plymouth Parkway are all laughing if you think you going to start up there.
Well done TUST for killing the club.
The point is, your post is unhelpful at best, and intentionally poisonous at worst. We as a fanbase need to unite now to have the best chance of saving the club or the success of a future phoenix club.
If you believe TUST killed the club you need to seek help today from NHS mental health services. It has been explained to death the reasons why and if you are unable to accept or comprehend those reasons then, you either don't have the IQ required to understand or you purposefully are acting like an ignorant child.

He means around 18 months ago when it was obvious the squad he had was incapable of achieving anything on the national league and clearly looked like relegation fodder, which is exactly what played out.BigDave wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 19:32 By YEARS ago do you mean the season when Torquay finished 2nd in the National League and were beaten in the Play-off Final or do you mean the year before last when the club only managed 11th place? The hyperbolic CAPITALS might even suggest that you would have dismissed Johnson before he was even appointed, which would of course have prevented the ineptitude to which you refer. (I am sure that it's not just other football clubs who would like to know the secret of how one can sack ineptitude - perhaps you could enlighten us as it is somewhat similar to knitting water.)
You think you are being clever with your post here but actually all you are doing is showing poor humour, poor judgement and a lack of class.

I thought initially what you were getting at was that because Worthing won being a man down, we shouldn’t be too up in arms about losing to Braintree and having a man advantage.MellowYellow wrote: ↑17 Feb 2024, 17:24 As relevant as Ryan Hanson being not good enough to play for us but good enough to play for a club above us in this tin-pot league.
