Gutted to be missing this one - can't wait for the December encounters though! I predict it to be a bit tighter than most people. I reckon it'll be a 1-0 affair with a crowd of around 4,900.

Re: Bristow's Bench / Grandstand Latest Pictures
By the look of it the italics are due to the seats being off-set against the row in front which will mean that you won't have someone's head directly in front of you when sitting in the Bench. Nice touch methinks.cambgull wrote:Looks fantastic.
Not sure if I'm hugely fussed about the italic letters but it'll still be something to be proud of when it's done. Good work Mr Candy!
On the whole I'm hugely impressed with the whole thing. I was always worried that whatever we replaced the Grandstand with would be the same size as the Family Stand or Popside and we'd end up with the Diva Stadium mark 2. Great to see a little ambition from the club.
Does anyone know what the new capacity will be?

Re: how many games Torquay united have you watched
I'm over at Garthdee. Actaully it was football not oil that brought me here. I came up with a couple of fellow Gulls fans in 2002 to watch Aberdeen v Motherwell and tick another ground off the list and ended up marrying an Aberdonian! I take it that oil brought you here - not many people come here for anything else!Gulliball wrote:Where in Aberdeen do you live? And how did you end up in Aberdeen, oil? Just curious as a fellow Gull.

Re: how many games Torquay united have you watched
I reckon I've been to between 200 and 250 Gulls matches (and seen them at over 40 grounds) but amazingly have only been to seven games in a decade since moving to Aberdeen! I've seen many memorable games but one of the best I can remember was in 1993 at Doncaster's delapidated old ground Belle Vue. We hadn't won an away game for 17 months following a season-long spell in the old third division (amazingly we were relegated with one of the best home records, which included wins against West Brom (Fashanu) and Stoke (Dobie)) and were two nil down at half time. Imagine the rapture among the 150 strong away-following when Duane Darby chipped the keeper in the second half to complete a 2-3 victory. Does anyone else have a particular favourite away game from the 90s?
