Re: Nial Thompson

I now realise why Ling has seemed even more determined to see the departure of Macklin, he looks a real talent. :keepie:

Driving through our village the other day, my youngest lad told me to slow down....I looked and was surprised to see I was going 45 in a 30 mile zone........

....it would be bad enough to kill someone driving to the law, but how would I, or you, feel if you killed some child in your own village knowing you were going 45 mph, 50% above the speed limit?

My best guess is, many of you who slam Hughes have done similar yourself....is that crime as bad?

A few years back a family member was killed by a drunk driver yet I still drove outside the law that day......that was as much pre-medidated as Hughes or McCormick in my opinion....I was just lucky.......
An incredible statement that has got my blood boiling, especially if you have lost a family member to a drunk/drug driver as I also have. Your lack of concentration and one off speeding within a 30 zone ( you said you were suprised by your speed ) is not premeditated

So how can it be as premeditated as Hughes, who snorted lines of crack and knecked spirits (allegedly), before deciding to go get in his £100 grand merc and drive through a village on the wrong side of the road at twice the speed limit. After the crash which killed the father of 3 and crippled the other man for life, he then made the decision to go on the run for 36 hours.

If Hughes had picked up a gun or a knife and done what he did, im sure you would be saying throw away the key, because it was with a car its somehow not quite as bad, tell that to the familys involved. The law is an ass, and to answer your question NO, speeding through lack of concentration is not as bad as what that scumbag did, and its bloody rediculous to suggest it is. :@

Re: Lee Hughes

Perhaps he was legging it after he had just ploughed head on into some innocent family under the influence of a cocktail of drugs, leaving 3 kids without a dad, and leaving one chap crippled for life (allegedly). Well if he does sign we can all buy Hugh's masks, and bask in the glory of having the biggest scumbag to have ever played the game. Sorry don't like him much :)

Re: Byron Anthony?

Shrewsbury on loan is even further south! :na: :na:

May be wrong but didn't he miss their playoff or get injured during it breaking a bone in his foot?

Re: Bodin back to Torquay!!

Agree, I think we need another up top maybe not a Zeb, but more of a Benyon type player to really make the squad look a better one than last season, and give the manager options.

Re: Bodin back to Torquay?

For what it's worth, just spoke to the source I mentioned in my last post on Saturday who seems to have been spot on again. Billy is desperate to join Torquay, but he believes the 70k has been turned down as Swindon are holding out for the price they gave Lingy last week which is 75k. Wouldn't have thought this will ruin things if true but who knows. Think Billy's old man may be looking for a new club in the not to distant future too from what he says. Maybe there will be 2 Bodins working at TUFC in the future.

Re: Bodin back to Torquay?

Haven't been on here for a long long time but thought I would re register, I see the Victor Meldrew of this site is still alive and moaning :). Just got home from Swindon, I have to travel there 3 times a week on work and have done for the past year. Anyway, have it on good authority, ( well the guy has been spot on with stuff before, including Bodin to Crewe a week before it was mentioned anywhere else, and reckons he knows his old man). He says Swindon want £75k for Bodin and that Torquay is the club he wants to go to. Maybe if Ling likes him that much we will see a follow up bid halfway between the current £50k and £75k.
For me, if someone had offered me a straight swap Bodin for Ellis, baring in mind Ellis didn't want to be a Gull any longer I would have taken it. Sod it pay the £75k. :scarf:
