Greetings Gulls , a few of us travelling down from up North at the weekend and making a few days of it. Any recommendations on any decent watering holes and socialising venues for a night out? Read various mixed reviews of Torquay, but surely the place can't be too bad! :~D
Good news for us that your main goal threat will be suspended, but I'm sure it'll still be a close game. Although our results have looked quite indifferent, and nothing too special at times, we are playing well most of the time, and have definitely improved under the new Gaffer.
If anyone fancies a bit of friendly, pre-match banter, feel free to pop along to the Indy forum and say hi.

Re: Fleetwood Info
I'm not telling away fans to go to another pub, and I did state Jim's Bar is without doubt one of the best set-ups for a footy bar. I was just pointing out that pints aren't the greatest - well the Lager isn't anyway. And just stating that all the barmaids in the photo don't work in Jim's anymore.FTFC1908 wrote:Juantaylos: They were all pretty decent bar maids when I bobbed in on Monday and unless you like real ale, ale is very good if you ask me. Glad to see they have food on now though.
For football fan experience, live footy, ale, bar maids, meeting home fans, quality of the gaff, it pretty much has it all. Why tell away fans to walk to 'just another same old boozer' when we have something pretty much unique right here at the ground.
How many you reckon you will bring.
As for fans going to just another same old boozer, don't most of us do that when going to away towns - ie. always find a Wetherspoons???

Re: Fleetwood Info
Greetings peeps . Jim's Bar is without doubt one of the best set-ups for a footy bar, but don't expect a decent pint, and you've no chance of seeing any of those barmaids in that picture! That pic was taken some time ago, and all the decent barmaids now work in the hospitality suites. The town centre is only 10mins walk at most from the away end, and there's a very decent Wetherspoons, and another very good pub opposite - The Wyre Light. Hope you all have a safe journey up and enjoy your visit to Fleetwood - but not the result!

Re: Greetings from Fleetwood Town
Only for the reason I was hoping for an away day on the opening Saturday. :~DRichinns wrote:Let's start by you exlaining why (in your words) playing Torquay is "not exactly the best opener" :whip: :slap:
At least playing yourselves will give us a good indication as to the standard of the better sides of the division.
