Re: Danny Stevens - Thankyou
Well done Danny & thanks. Saw one of your early games at Buckland in the summer of 2007. Club's future looked so fragile at that point, and you were a big part of our exhilarating recovery. A very decent stint for Torquay. Prove us wrong mate: good luck.

Re: Retain or Release?
Right Back: I thought Oastler underachieved this season and although I may have given him another chance I fail to see why the fact that he was a regular in a team that only survived in the last fortnight is a reason to keep him. I imagine Knill will have targets but if we must retain the vastly overrated Mansell I would stick him back in there, where I think he did very well under Buckle.

Re: Crawley poor against better teams
Spot on.
Gary Player: "The harder I practice, the luckier I get"
Darren Moore: "The further away I get from Paul R****r's chin the quicker he hits the astroturf"
We'll be fine.

I would just like to put a word in for The Clocktower followed by The Union. Does it for us most of the time!

Re: Goal Music
My parents often used to play a "South Pacific" LP.
"Happy Torquay Torquay Happy Talk
Talk about things you like to do
You got to have a team
You got have a team
Anybody but Man U"
Boo.

Re: Goal Music
Dunno what the music is called. It's what they play between legs at the darts. Where it works a treat.
At Plainmoor? Derivative, pointless, unnecessary.
Boo!
Lovely to see Kee take responsibilty and drayshe it home though. Good effort all round I thought. Loved the mutual baiting between the Pop Side and their keeper. Now that's what I call a proper atmosphere.

If you think that's harsh wait until you see the abuse you could get for your unnecessary apostrophe!

Re: Torquay vs Barnet
I haven't looked back through this thread so I apologise if:
a) This is going over old ground and/or,
b) It's a bit sad posting almost as soon as I get home,
but please please please please can we not ape every other sad plastic club in the country and play music when we score?
Ridiculous.

Re: Mansfield
Yes they were shocking weren't they? I seem to remember it being very early in the season and having to run to the ground through a torrential downpour. Better memories of a late Garry Nelson screamer on a cold night with part of the Sheffield Weds band playing along behind us. Steve McCall was serenaded with the theme from Steptoe & Son. My mate always maintains that the crossbar is still rattling from a Brian Kilkline screamer in the first half.

Re: Plainmoor
If you have time to visit 2 pubs, by all means try Boots & Laces. If you've only got time for one, come to the Union: good bitter, better conversation & atmosphere. Friendly, I promise. Two minutes from the ground, opposite Waitrose(!). Bring your own whippet.
