Cox Resigns

Usual reactionary drivel coming out of a lot of people on here.

No one knows the facts so the gossip mongering starts!

I'm not that upset Cox has gone, he has to take some responsibility for the poor attendances with his brand of football. Absolute long ball merchant and it was terrible to watch.

Why are we still signing players if we're about to fold? The set up is far from ideal but there are a lot more things to go wrong before we get to that stage.

Deano was a hero not so long ago for helping to save the club and now everyone is blaming him and calling him a clown. Take a look at yourselves.

Nice to hear sorted quickly and put to bed. Fair play for him to come out and apologise.

1. Young has gone right off the boil since October, talk of him being a genius were ill judged and I couldn't see any club being interested in him now. Argyle knew what they were doing.
2. Hargreaves is a joke, several of us on here suggested he wasn't the right man for the job when he took over and we are all being proved right. Watch the interviews on the clubs Youtube channel. You couldn't witness a more arrogant, dis-interested bloke being interviewed every week.

Thea, save yourself, stop funding the club, enjoy what money you have left and lets all find something else to do on a Saturday afternoon.
Agree young has gone right off the boil, but think he's a decent player. He's no genius but he's decent I used properly, and could prob play at league 1 standard eventually. He's not got great legs and struggles in a midfield two. This is the first thing the Plymouth fans said when he joined, and they were right. They said he should play in a three as the advanced midfielder as his strengths are breaking through and scoring, as well as his passing and distribution. He gets exposed in a midfield two. This seems spot on having watched him all year. He could maybe play a sitting role as the playmaker as he's got good passing range, but you'd miss his breaks from midfield and striking at goal. We just look so average with a 4-4-2. We were just long balling it all day today. I know the pitch wasn't great, but you could still play football on it.

I get your point about standards but there was extreme provocation involved and the lad has reacted. At least it shows he has passion. Perhaps an internal meeting with the squad to discuss discipline will suffice.
Passions are running high at the moment as we all want the club we love to succeed and I believe Angus does too!
Apologies. I guess my frustrations are getting the better of me. I think that is a good idea-it needs addressing and tbh I think Angus needs to come out and apologise to the fans. If he had come over to the fans as gesture like young did im sure it would of eased the situation, but now there is a sour taste in the mouth with him. Agree there was probably extreme provocation and I don't think fans have the right to abuse the players the way they do just because they pay £13 or whatever it is, but also they do have the right to exercise their frustrations. I hate it when players get abused, especially when some things said on the terraces can be awful and unjust. In the same way I'd expect a fan to be ejected or banned or cautioned by stewards if they were execessive, aggressive and abusive towards the players, I expect the same if a player does it.

More worryingly, by far, has to be our performances and consistency under Hargreaves' management.
That's a fair point. At least he cares I guess. Wish the team had shown that level of passion in the game.

Haha, you clearly don't read my posts then. I've never abused a player and I'm against the abuse they get, which I wrote before. Have a read chap. Fair enough, I don't know you well enough to know if you're a moron or not, but your opinion is moronic.

I fell in love with Torquay United in 2002, sitting in the Family Stand watching a 2-2 draw against Rochdale. The marriage was settled during the 2003/2004 season, with the honeymoon at Southend. We've had some ups and downs but recently it's just not working out. This past year and a half, we've been having constant arguments and the passion, commitment, desire and love has completely gone. It's time for myself and TUFC to take a break.

From the bottom of my heart, I say this to you Thea; please DO NOT put any more money into this football club. I'll be saying this to her face to face when I see her at the place I work tomorrow evening. The players don't give two hoots about this club and it's disgusting.

As for Angus, he can go as far as I'm concerned. Fans have to work around two hours to earn £13, he only has to work five minutes. WE pay to watch and pay for YOU. How dare you, how dare you call our fans "f***ing c***s" and call someone out to wait for you outside. An absolute disgrace, I've never seen anything like it.

No-one, not a single player wanted to win this game. No-one. They put in no effort whatsoever and when they all stood still after Young gave the ball away which led to Wrexham's third goal, that was the final straw for me. Torquay United and I need to take a break. I won't be going to any more games this year, that's a fact.

No idea why Hargreaves took off Ajala and brought on Briscoe for a straight swap, bewildered that Ping Pong was brought on too. The blame can't be put on Hargreaves, he can only use what he's got, but what do they actually do in training? From today's performance, it looks like a big fat zero.

Thirteen points off the relegation zone. Our goal now is to stay up. Just about sums it up.
In total agreement with you. Feel a mixture of anger, frustration and disappointment. Fans will understand teams having bad games, but we can't forgive a lack of passion and effort. They all probably thought they were putting a shift in. They really weren't.

Seriously the non stop abuse dished out by some on the pop side is horrendous . Fair enough you might say, we pay their wages we can say what we want. Ok but then dont cry when someone bites back. If you give it learn to take it.
I challenge any of you to bite your lip when someone is screaming obscenities at you.
What a great idea. Let's not have any standards as a football club. Moron. I'd already pointed out I don't support sbiding the players and I was trying to cheer them on, but the reaction is unacceptable. What is the message we send if it's not addressed? He seemed to be focussing on a section of the fans big just one person to me. I could forgive if it was just a two or three word shout out in anger, but it was a tirade. I don't want him banned and I don't want our players abused at all, but someone should talk to him about it, as he's going to get himself in trouble if he carries on like that.

That's why I have a bit of sympathy for CH because the players gave up when that first goal went in!

But and its a big but, what did we do all week? Why weren't they up for the fight? - Wrexham were!

I don't doubt CH wanted it, but some of the players have to take the flack though - they weren't interested and they didn't care!

I'll most probably be writing to the club about it. I've been going for about 25 years and never witnessed anything like it. Whilst just because we pay our money to watch and support, I don't think fans have free reign to abuse the players, but that reaction is horrific. I'm a loyal fan and is never complain about a player like that but it really wound me up. We do have the right to voice our displeasure, especially when we are losing 3-0 at home without putting up a fight and missing out on wembley.Like I said would be good to hear from any others that witnessed it.

Second half disgrace.
I like young as a player and a character but he had a poor game and couldn't get into the game. I was on the Pop side and he was obviously getting some stick which he didn't like and began reacting back. Not aggressively-more in a way to say I'm trying my best. McDonald felt the need to step in. Now I don't know what was said to young and Im not one to say players should take untold stick if it's reallly abusive, but McDonald's reaction was horrific. To call the fans 'f*****g c***s' is a disgrace. An absolute disgrace. I'm all for sticking up your team mate but that was truly disgusting to start shouring back like that to the fans. Downes had to pull him away.
At least young had the bottle to walk right over to the pop side at the end after the game. I clapped him just for that and facing the music, whilst McDonald walked straight down the tunnel like a coward. Be interesting to hear from others who saw his behaviour.

ET's only hear disputes in certain circumstances, and undoubtably this would not be one of them, so perhaps adapt your condescending tone to something you know about. As I do this for a living I'm acutely aware of access to tribunals etc. A dismissal for this offense would not have access to a tribunal. Only if we managed to breach his contract would there be an issue, which would be hard to do on his current T&C's
