Clubs already sniffing around our young talent.
With Hargreaves saying it will take a large offer to sign Luke Young, what sort of fee realistically would Torquay be able to push for if young was to decide to leave seeming he would only have a season and a half left on his deal? also out of interest which over players do people think are likely to be receiving offers in January. Macdonald? Pearce if still not playing? Downes if is still transfer listed?

Kidderminster Harriers v Torquay United
Suprised at line up is briscoe injured? Think yeoman deserves to start after his workrate when he came on last week bit strange its o'achie the one to drop out though based on last week anyway. Also thought ajala was decent last week.

Aldershot Town v Torquay United – Saturday 25th October 2014
was my first torquay game yesterday was a shame to see a defeat. even though it was a poor performance there was still easily enough chances created to get at least a replay. bowman twice, Cameron, macdonald, yeoman twice, Richards, acheampong all had good chances. I thought macdonald was superb won so much In the air challenged well and had the ability to bring a ball down. thought the back 4 all did pretty well and seabright made a couple of quality saves. I thought the biggest problem was Aldershot totally dominated the centre mid making it so hard for torquay to push up and get a control of game. wakefield for the last half hour looked pretty decent though and was easily the better of the two centre mids however Richards may not have been fully fit after the assault of a tackle he received. Briscoe worked hard had a few really good touches and delivered a few good balls. ajala seemed the best outlet first half and had the ability to beat players but not as much end product. would have liked to have seen yeoman along side acheampong early in second half and left the wide men the same and see how that worked. was surprised with the choices of the subs taken off but I guess if the chances had have been taken by Cameron and yeoman would have looked like great decisions.

thanks for the reply. I guess I just assumed all sides at conference level would have them. but what you say about the travelling is a very fair point, and friendlies must be financially better option. I guess short term loans is a option too?

do Torquay have a reserve/u21 team for the youngsters/fringe players to develop and stay match fit in that stage between u18-first team. I have searched about but can only see a u18s side and nothing after that? also random question is kirtys macenzie still with torquay?

Torquay United v Aldershot Town – Monday 25th August 2014
Just watched the Highlights on Youtube. Chappell looked like a decent player great pace and put in a couple of decent crosses one of which in first half to back post surely o'achie should have gone with his head instead of trying a side foot volley? also on ives for the equaliser isn't it just a case of inexperience initially going with wrong man instead of sticking with wide man, then changing his mind on who to follow and getting tangled in a tussle in process. looks like clever play to block his run by the Aldershot attacker rather than a foul. only my opinion though.

I used to watch arsenal u18/reserves a fair bit and I remember thinking he was decent on the ball and a steady passer (which I would assume is easier at that level with more time on ball?) also seemed ok when got forward but remember some games he rarely got over the half way line. he did seem to lack pace from what I remember. Although was never going to get a chance at arsenals level i would have said he will be sure to have a good career in the football league, so its interesting to read he is struggling, and a shame as he seemed down to earth in a team with some big egos at that time.
