Kidderminster Harriers v Torquay United
Playing an open expansive 4-4-2 is clearly not working away from home. One of the things we need to do against Barnet and future away games is get a third midfielder in the centre. No brainer for me CH.

Pearce, Downes or MacDonald
After last night, it has to be Downes and Mac. First 2 goals for Alfreton, Pearce has to do better with the initial headers.

Forest Green Rovers v Torquay United – Tuesday 30th Sept
Agree with comments from CP Gull. These days it is amazing how many 'soft' yellow cards are given, leading to reds and ultimately effecting the outcome of matches. This modern way of officiating games is penalising players far too often and I have felt for sometime now that the rule makers have got to give the players a chance. Change from 2 yellows to 3 before you are sent off! Might help with consistency for referees as well. Started watching football in the 80's, Richards foul back then would have just been a simple free-kick. Don't like the way football is going personally.

Torquay United v Woking - Tuesday 16th September - 7.45pm
Firstly congrats to CH and the team and thanks to Young for that goal last night. I still think it is too early to not fear anyone ( I am naturally a cautious fellow ) because we have had a relatively comfortable fixture list and we have another 2 games coming up that could yield another 6 points. Then the season gets serious. I am thinking now that we are a top 8 team(thought we would be mid table at the start), where in the top 8 god knows, but until we play all the big guns in the division then I'm going to be cautious. I would still look to strengthen up front and centre mid if possible ( as back up to the boys currently there ) as has been mentioned elsewhere. Impressive work from the team so far.

Torquay United v Woking - Tuesday 16th September - 7.45pm
Just spent some time looking at their highlights from previous matches and they do look a good passing team. Seem to give up chances from crosses so Young's delivery from set plays might make them vulnerable. Hope the lads have recovered from their tour(s) of Northern England because we will need to be at our best. Tough match. I go for a 2-2 thriller at the Launa Windows Stadium.

Grimsby v Torquay United – Saturday 13th September 2014
This game and surprisingly next Tuesday will possibly give us a clearer indication as to how good a team we are. My expectations have risen due to the recent performances but these were against bottom 8 teams and 10 man Lincoln. I will be delighted if we drive out of Grimsby with a point.

The Gulls v Gateshead (away) 9 August 2014
Lets see where we are this time next week before we all despair. Agree with those that were disappointed not to see Ajala make the first 11, and I am surprised that Chappell isn't even making the bench but I am sure that this group of players we have will finish somewhere in the middle third or better. I do hope that Ives is in the team for Tuesday but if it is Cruise then he will get my support for the full 90 mins.
