Are GI Investing?
I'm not sure if GI are investing but there is £75 million being invested into another company that Clarke Osborne is the chairman.
Clarke was on the local news last week being interviewed about Aviva investing £75M into truespeed. I don't suppose he could siphon 1% of that for TUFC!
Here's the story http://www.truespeed.com/news/2017/true ... 75-million

RIP Norman Medhurst
Really sad news, what a lovely chap Norman was. "Norman, gives us wave, Norman, Norman, gives us a wave." & he did..
I remember being at a pre season game in Newquay. Norman asked us to look after his bags whilst he filled up some water bottles, don't get that in the prem. Same day remember chatting to Big Nev in the car park, he was getting out of the cavalier, or was it a vectra he was driving, bet Jordan Pickford has got better wheels than that already. At half time knock about with the subs, put a cross into the box for JP SImb - happy days.
RIP norm

Torquay United Top 100 Matches
What a great day out that was, although the second leg back at plainmoor midweek was even better. I bet that game makes the top 10.Plymouth Gull wrote:JOINT 65th: Scarborough 1 - 3 Torquay United - 1997/98

Torquay United travelled to Scarborough for the first of a two-legged Playoff Semi Final at the end of the 1997/98 campaign. United had been in pretty awful form through the tail end of the season, and had to settle for the playoffs. Scarborough awaited, and United were away in the first leg. Over 5,000 fans were at the McCain Stadium to see Torquay win by two clear goals, taking a great advantage back to Devon. Rodney Jack opened the scoring before Jason Rockett equalised before half time. Soon after the restart, Jon Gittens restored the Gulls' lead. Andy McFarlane then added a third with 20 minutes to go, ensuring that United had one foot at Wembley.
The drive up to Scarborough was a long one. I seem to remember the police stopped our coach on the outskirts of the town asking us to wait for the other coaches to provide an escort. The driver had to tell the police that we were the only coach! Also remember a few stones hitting the windows on the way home.
Great penalty save from Kenny that day too. Rodney and Andy Mac were running riot

A Word of Sympathy for the Current Board.
"You were my Torquay,
My only Torquay,
You made me happy,
But now skies are grey,
You never noticed,
how much I loved you,
But now please take my Torquay away"
Such sad times......
Second thoughts. "I'm Torquay till they die" rolll on Boxing Day.

Agree bleeper, all the talk of the past just doesn't make sense to anyone who is / was genuinely interested in buying a football club. From reading some of this shit just spells out to me someone who is.
1. Trying to make themselves feel better about themselves, feeding an ego
2. Desperate to try and derail hard work of others
If you were interested and didn't succeed would you not just have some pride and walk away rather than spouting shit on forums. Anyone can say we'd successed by investing money, building a squad, working with the community etc etc. It's all so obvious a junior school kid would say the same about a business plan in football.
Just sod off and buy one of these many other clubs you mention. Boring just doesn't do it now. School tomorrow....

Top 100 Torquay United Players
Enjoying this PG, thanks for the effort. Wish I had voted now, wonder if Jose luis mateu pinto is going to make the top 10?
Seems a shame for Micky not to have his photo here, I think it's him lying on the ground below Deano isn't it?

Re: Top 100 Torquay United Players
As a picture of the great JPS was missing here is one from the day he made his debut when eifion hit his hatrick, image stolen from the corridors at plainmoor. Loved him celebrating by running down the pop side giving the high fives!
Good memories of another player mentioned here, chris Brandon and his debut away at gay meadow. Good away day, made better that we won the raffle in their social club before game paying for our entrance fees.

I think matt makes fair and reasoned comment to be honest As for big club rubbish being the other side of the river at least city have been in the top league or close to it in living memory, plus they are on a good run at the moment.
I hear Daniel leadbitter made a rix for the second goal today, no doubt he was tweeting Lloyd macklin at the time about some tune. Let's hope he's still in the gas starting line up on Boxing Day.
