Torquay United v FGR (Boxing day/Jan 1ST) double header match day thread
Just got in from the game was so proud of the whole team I had to go for a couple of jars to celebrate had my tongue pie for tea but it was worth it the lads were superb and the support from the fans was great I know it's only 1 game but if we play like that regularly we won't be in trouble for much longer COYY

Can the squad be strengthened enough to save us?
Hi jack thanks for the info hope Carmichael stays as he done well for us early season but then got injured and Nico hasn't really played him since he got fit I still don't think we have seen the best of him as he is still a young lad but friends of mine in bmth said when they were struggling he played three games for the 1st team and he was probably there best player on all 3 occasions

What do you call a brace of Fishers? (signing news!)
All I can say is if the board do not sort things out we could end up losing players hand over fist I don't know what player some of you are referring to but I know Smith is here long term and I think the only other loan player we have is Carmichael who is due to go back to Bournemouth in January so I don't think it would be them so it does make me worry that if any of the others have hinted that they want out is it because of our present situation or is it because of the manager ?

Have to agree with you Arcadia why did Nico not play Carmichael from the start in c mid then Butler could have played in front of Nico and I feel we would have had a better balance in the team and been stronger down our left with Butler being able to help Nico out.

I was very disappointed in today's result we have hit the lowest point of the season I am not one to call for Nicos head as I know he has been in a poor position to start with however I go back to the beginning of the season when Cox was manager we played some good football at times and were unlucky with results but when Nico came in and the team suffered the injuries we have he has struggled I understand that at times he has had to play players out of position but please for god sake try to get back to as much as possible the team that started the 1st 3 games in the same positions as we performed a lot better than we have in the last 8 games or so IMO COYY

I have to agree with Richinns that Carmichael is the best midfielder when fit at the club but I have to say when you say a piss poor team I don't think that can be said because Smith Marsh Butler and macdonald and Richards have all performed well in games but unfortunately Carmichael goes back off loan in January so if he is fit why is he not playing we got a result tonite however we need a stronger team in the next few games IMO but we need to keep supporting the team and manager as we are Torquay Supporters COYY

HI Brucie yes it was a farce smith not being registered but in the case of Carmichael he took a knock against Cullompton and they did not take a risk playing him by playing stupid friendly games we will pick up injuries pity because as others have stated and I agree Carmichael is probably the most creative midfielder we have and one of the best passers of the ball as I have said Nico move aside for Butler and get Carmichael back in the side

I have to say I did not expect us to be in the position we are but if we can turn it around in the next few weeks I believe we can manage to stay up but I honestly think Nico needs to look at the fixtures and pick games he feels he could play in he may not play in many but I think he would be able to look at things from a different perspective if he is on the sidelines I for one will not give up on the lads till it is mathematically impossible COYY

Torquay United v Wrexham- (NOW Dec 5th)
Hi forevertufc as I have stated before clubs are not going to let players come on loan to us if we are not playing them again as an example I have to bring Carmichael up he played every game under Cox then got injured went back to Bmth got fit came back two weeks ago was by far our best player in the friendly against Bideford but Nico has not given him any game time so far so you can understand why clubs won't let them come to Torquay and in 3 weeks Carmichael will go back to Bmth and you can bet he won't come back if he's not playing

As I posted earlier Portugull I could not believe Nico played himself when Marsh and Carmichael were left on the bench but if he doesn't change it soon by dropping himself out we will be in trouble Carmichael is only here till January and he's come to us for game time so by not playing he won't want to stay any longer this lad is good enough check his Wikipedia he was a sub for bmth 1st team under Bradbury at least 7 times played 3 times for Bmth v Walsall crawley and Coventry as well as 90 mins at Wembley in the FA Trophy final whilst on loan at Gosport and Nico doesn't play him why?
