Spiess
I am sure he will go on to be successful in the future, just needs to be at a club where he can develop and where he is wanted. Our fans never really gave the lad a chance as he took the place of our own boy Dan.. Its funny how support can help growth but how abuse just wrecks confidence. suggest some of you posters look back at threads for MOTM .Spiess appeared in the top 5 of those who posted on several occasions. Yes the lad made some mistakes (so has Dan but folks tend to ignore them) but he also made some great saves that earned us points. Good luck to him. Makes me laugh how posters are concerned did we get money for him... to be honest we don't deserve anything for him being paid 125 per week no GK coach and no training facilities ..what have TUFC done to deserve a fee. Good Luck to the lad .. I for one will follow his career he has the potential to be a very good keeper.

good posting Alley... Nico on the bench where he should be and I also think that currently our strongest team isAlley wrote:Having watched the game I have to agree with rob and Portugull Heslop wasa total waste of time I can understand Carmichael has just come back from Bournemouth after injury but he would probably been better than Heslop even if he was not match fit Fairhurst came on and considering the time he's been out did well.Nicho needs to manage not play my team for the next few games would be Spiess Butler Angus Smith Berry Carmichael Richards Fairhurst Marsh Wright Mumbedzi
Spiess Butler Angus Smith Berry Carmichael Richards Fairhurst Marsh Wright Mumbedzi..... this for me would be the best we could do unless the squad was strengthened which is unlikely. Short of injuries or suspensions Nico should try to establish some stability, run with the above side for a few weeks and if possible gain some cohesion on the pitch and direction from Nico from the technical area

I suspect after basingstoke Nico had to be seen as making a change.. the easy scapegoat was Spiess.Nico folded to a handfull a fans who know better.
No keeper coach training on a muddy park kicking balls at each other.. what do you expect.

MOTM - Lincoln
Russian Gull firstly no need for name calling this is supposed to be an adult forum. Secondly Yes I was at the game yesterday, thirdly as for their second goal a long deep cross beyond the 6 yrd area, our 6ft 5 Centre half should surely have been able to cope with that and out jump Reid? Spiess did not come and flap at it. Finally in your own words MOTM is subjective, and on this point I fully agree with you, so why do you open your answer and make comment on other peoples opinions? The thread is who was your man of the match not who was not your man of the match. Out of 6 postings so far for MOTM Spiess has appeared in 3 of them.by my reckoning that's 50% so far. Like you say its subjective. No need to make comment on others opinion in this thread. Enough said

Great management.. replace Spiess after a good performance Tuesday... great confidence booster.. put lavercombe in.. get battered wth 7 goals..... well done to everyone wanting Dan in... Edwards fell to your pressure... now you got 2 goalkeepers down on confidence... great man management... not..... 4 posts for motm on Tuesday.. Spiess was mentioned in all... what do we do next game... drop him... ?????? Feel gutted for both our keepers... hope they are both strong enough to cope with the idiots making these decisions and those in the crowd supporting such decisions. ... gulls KTF

arcadia but now you are contradicting your own post about Dan being a Liverpool....>>>>???
I am out of this...my point is get off the players back and support them All they are a squad and all will play an important part as the season unrolls ...so lets get with them instead of against them.

Aside from posting I have also done some research, as bigleigh shows Spiess was also at Liverpool earlier this year, additionally I found this article

I think Cox knows what he is doing

Lavercombe could save the club
the first time I have posted on the forum but as a paying fan I guess I am entitled to a voice. it is this continuous battering of Spiess by a posting minority on here and other social media sites that has promoted me to write. Get off the lads back he has had one poor game and if you sit back and think or have been also to away games you would know that he has for sure made some excellent saves and been down at players feet to claim the ball and made a large contribution to our points tally thus far. In fact as you run through MOTM proposals for the 8 games Spiess's name appears as proposed candidate in 5 of the 8 ...so if a player is amongst our fans MOTM for 65% of the matches played so far, how can we be so keen not to have him between the sticks??? Dan is a good young keeper but to think he is the savior is preposterous to say the least. All keepers at all levels make mistakes.. does some of our posters not watch MOTD ...any week you will see top class keepers earning big money making mistakes.... all players do just a keepers error is amplified. It would be interesting if our posters were on the man united forum when De Gea first joined the club. Lets face it he was not exactly convincing, its only because Fergusson stood by him that he remained in goals.
Can we ALL please get behind ALL of the team, reading criticism on social media will do nothing to boost the confidence of Spiess or any other or our players. Combined we together have a difficult season on and off the pitch, poor wages and club problems are enough distractions, our players will be far better served if we support them all as a team instead of dishing out undeserved critsism.... and for what its worth Saturdays take at the edge of the area was good goalkeeping... it a foul on Spiess all day long....I hope the appeal is successful and the red card revoked. Cox can then make his own decision who he wants between the sticks.
