A Tommy Northcott special

I was there too. Fred Jago, the regular stadium announcer, was away so my father was taking his place next to Derrick Brad. At halftime he announced details of the coming cup match and continued " in the event of Spurs holding us to a draw, the replay will be at White Hart Lane . . "
I don't think anyone heard the date of the replay as there was a roar of laughter.
And then the White Hart Lane pitch was flooded.

Torquay United v Eastleigh

I have just spoken to Steve Breed, the pitch has stood up to the rain well. Unless we have very adverse weather conditions in the next couple of hours the game is on.

The European Union: In or Out?

Kate Hooey (Lab), the most sensible member of the House of Commons, is for Brexit.
That is good enough for me.

Fairhurst Gone

Isn't it possible the club was trying to respect his feelings and give him the privacy they ( and many posters on this site ) felt he deserved?

Rewind 7 months

Some attributes the board has:

The willingness to risk losing hard-earned money.
The confidence to take decisions to stop the club haemorrhaging money.
Increasingly thick skins ( I guess ) to be able to cope with abuse.
A love of the club.

Since no-one with any better credentials was prepared to do anything 7 months ago, that is what we have.

Hancox moment of glory!

The one I only half remember was a goal FOR us, so not in a lost game, a goal?- kick from the opposition keeper and definitely near the penalty area. Maybe there were two!

Hancox moment of glory!

Very vague memory from maybe early 60's of ? Jim Fryatt at the Babbacombe end being hit on the head from a goal kick by the opposition keeper and being unconscious as the goal was scored. Any confirmation/ better details anyone?
