Good luck to Exeter City

No need to recoup the fee we paid to Bath City either. Yours for free.

Player Search - Who Will Turn Up?

aggrey_25 wrote: 01 Jun 2018, 10:43 Davis is the key player for me to resign, him in that league will be immense, he is a class above the rest of them
You could see his quality above the other players in the National League for certain!

Player Search - Who Will Turn Up?

Northampton gull wrote: 01 Jun 2018, 02:03 Just a statement but iffy Allen has been released from Bromley I wreckon that he could do well for us in the division we now find ourselves in depending all on how is attitude is
I think he would be a great player at NLS level but as you rightly point out there was an issue regarding his application and attitude (which I have heard from more that one source at the club). With that type of player it can often be the case of finding the manager who can get the spark out of them...whether GO would be the man to do that I do not know!

Player Search - Who Will Turn Up?

I am not sure if this has been mentioned before but what are the chances of an Efete return?:

He seemed to like the club and performed well for us.

Equally, what about Axel Óskar Andrésson - in my view he did not perform well for us but he certainly seemed to cut it for GO in the NLS previously.

Aldershot v Torquay 8/4/17

Such is the mental position of our team that I would be more worried if we were playing a struggling team of part timers!

Can we Survive? 10 Games Remaining.

Head - we are down, there is little chance that we will beat Aldershot and we will move further in to the abyss on Saturday.
Heart - there is still a chance and enough games to save us. A big crowd will spur us on.

So I will be at Aldershot on Saturday - heart has to be the winner in these circumstances. Pity a few more at the club haven't used their heads over the last few years...

Nicho backed

They have to weigh the potential losses incurred in going down against the probable 20k needed between now and the end of the season to get some serious signings in. No brainer.

GI and Harrop have backed Nicho and are looking for a CF and possibly one other player. Let's get behind the team and KN!

metmanmornge wrote: 06 Mar 2017, 13:37 The whole sorry state that torquay find themselves in today, dates back to the sacking of theach then chief executive, Colin Lee. Lee was the man responsible for the most successful period in recent tufc history. He was responsible for the signing of most of the players during Paul buckles reign. Thea Bristow is a wonderful supporter, pumping millions of pounds into the club. my only criticism of Mrs Bristow is that she allowed her heart to rule her head. Throughout her ownership, the club lacked an experienced person. Colin Lee has played, coached and managed at the highest level. in hindsight, if we had a Colin Lee type figure running our club, we wouldn't be in the sorry state we find ourselves today.
Thanks for this Mrs.Lee. If you could send us Colin's number we could do with his footballing expertise now.

Should Nicholson be sacked

I think he would be up to the job (add MacDonald, Racchi, Butler and Bliss to our current team) but I don't think that GI would give him the players...

Should Nicholson be sacked

The answer depends on what or who will replace him.

With a heavy heart I would say that yes he probably should be sacked now if the right person replaces him but I would not blame him for our current situation. He has made mistakes but these are the types of mistakes that a rookie manager should be allowed to make and should have the leeway to make and learn from. He has worked about 7 jobs at the club, put his heart and soul into it and he has received very little support. The current plight of the club is not KN's responsibility.

The right person - is an experience manager who is given authority by the board to bring in 3-4 serious players with grit and experience. The right person is not Harrop.

If GI has any desire to have a club at TQ1 then they need to pull their finger out now.

Would you go and watch Torquay United in the Conference South?

Using the figures above as a very crude base (and I stress that this is an indication only) - we could expect (on the basis of a Conference 1800 average).

Circa 325 season ticket holders
Circa 750 floating fans coming when they fancy
Circa270 floating fans who would come back if the club was in the right hands
Circa 450 fans gone.

We could therefore consider 800 - 1000 to be a fantastic gate if in the Conference South.

It is a highly accomplished interview and he eloquently sets out essentially everything which you would want a new owner of Torquay to say: new youth system, sustainable, infrastructure, climb up the leagues etc.. I hope that this all happens but first and foremost he (and his colleagues) need to keep Torquay in this league as a minimum. This requires a quick but serious cash injection and some action!

CO speaks well and is saying the right buzz words re sustainability etc. Actions speak louder than words - keep us in this league.
