Gary Johnson, stick or twist?
If things don't improve over the next month and GJ stays in the job, just what does that tell us about the owners intentions for this club?

Not quite, the magnitude of Aldershot's victory means Halifax drop below us on goal difference.
And Wrexham could only manage a draw with Southend who are just one point ahead of us.

Torquay United v Aldershot 10/9/22
Exactly my thoughts on the matter. It is basically a PR decision, football is often used as a punch bag by the press whether it's talking about the avarice of modern day footballers or the behaviour of fans, no doubt the Daily Mail would have been screaming about disrespect if the games had gone ahead.forevertufc wrote: ↑10 Sep 2022, 09:36 Think the decision to postpone football this weekend is more down the society we live in today, a society where just can't right for doing wrong, should imagine those at the top of the F.A where shit scared so went for what they believed to be the safe option.

Of course Johnson knows what the budget is, if he didn't he wouldn't be able to assemble a squad.
Say he doesn't know what the budget is and overspends, then George Edwards would have to go to him and tell him to sack some of the players he signed. Or say Johnson massively underspends, then after a disappointing season. George Edwards might say to him "didn't you know there was £5 million left in the kitty".
Johnson knows what the budget is, but he is savvy enough not to tell anyone what it is lest players' agents get to know what they can screw out of us.

What I find most remarkable about the whole saga is that Covolan was the only goalkeeper in the Chesterfield squad. That is simply ludicrous when Chesterfield are considered amongst the favourites for promotion this season.

If you can pay on the gate that would be the preferable option because Truro charge a £1.75 booking fee.

Probably fortunate we didn't sign Tony Lee. He's been suspended by Poole Town following unspecified allegations.

Another goalkeeper will be signed simply because all squads have at least two. Interesting to see whose on the bench tonight.

Hope so!Kingsgull83 wrote: ↑04 Jul 2022, 18:52 Shaun McDonald seen last night in the bay. I know he has a partner down here but he obviously hasn’t found a new club and GJ said in his presser that some players who turned deals down have been back in touch as moves haven’t materialised. Chances of us seeing him back next season??

Only because we have an owner who is prepared to cover loses of £2k a day.
Likewise in the days of the Bristow's and Mike Bateson, we only survive because someone is willing to underwrite the whole operation. What happens when Osborne decides to call it a day is anyone's guess.
