Time to go Mr Nicholson... POOR

gullpower wrote: 29 Jan 2017, 15:11 No post this week yellowblackwhite?
my post was based upon every game since the start of the season and my personal judgement alone... so after a 3-1 win in which most would agree we had an element of luck on our side I am of no change in view.... give it 5 games and then we can all judge.

MUPPET!!

Time to go Mr Nicholson... POOR

I am sick and tired of hearing how great Nicholson was last season, I do pose the question to all those who seem to worship our manager... how great to save us one year and then grind us into the ground the next. As with a manager in any job you are responsible for who you hire, how you deploy your staff and what technique you use to get the best from them. As a manager in any job you have a staffing budget, you employ within your remit and available expense.

I thought Nicholson did a good job last season, but he has and is making some very poor on the pitch decisions this season, his recruitment policy is suspect to say the least, I mean the young chap from Bournemouth, he may as well drafted in a school boy from one of the local schools.

I do not want this post to get petty, perhaps at least the new backroom employees who all have a previous relationship with TUFC will put aside this untouchable approach towards Nicholson and do the right thing.

No doubt I will get the usual worshipers reply with varying supportive responses... so be it.

As for those of you that have criticised Williams, a little unfair as you cant really pick a terrible performance for the small number of times he has had on the pitch...

Paul Rooney signing approved by new board?

Another silly post with no substance, as RoadRunner and Ferrarilover both confirm MILLWALL have given him as a totally FREE loan, and no this would not need approval as cost is zero to TUFC.

So we are - No wiser!! As you put it...

TUST UPDATE

This is all very well but once again the focus is on community ownership? Whilst there are several clubs that fall within the community ownership bracket, nearly all had a far greater community backing behind them and lets not forget about finance. It saddens me that the focus of TUST has moved away from being a generic thriving supporters trust, into one that is hell-bent on TUFC becoming a community owned club.

brucie wrote:Negativity? - Your nuts. Is this the same GI/Masters that Phillips claimed he was having nothing to do with.

Did the "Canadians" and "Midlands Consortium" ever exist in the first place?

Phillips is clearly a nice bloke but he is out of his depth as the custodian of the club because he has made a right royal **** up of everything.

Smurthwaite (what a shame he didn't offload Port Vale) clearly cannot buy the club. Masters can if he offloads Truro to his son which it seems he might have already done.

Tully as a manager doesn't seem like a positive step either. If he can get time off from rearing his fathers pigs and thumbing through his massive contacts book extending from Truro to Exeter we should be alright and Masters senior might even be able to bring along his coach (presuming he can find a driver for it)

We are dead already and have been since Breed/Edwards/Phillips and co appeared on the scene so the impending changes won't make any difference.
:goodpost:

Totally agree, lets just see what happens, at the end of the day is it Breed/Edwards/Philips that created/contributed to this situation. There has to be change either someone, somebodies take over the club or GI get it anyway, who cares, fact is we as fans can do NOTHING about it

Plainmoor78 wrote:The lack of due diligence concerns me. Thea Bristow was advised by her financial advisors to get out of the club. The current board, or rather the original Dean Edwards consortium, were told by their financial advisors not to touch the place with a barge pole. What's changed to make the club an attractive proposition?
The simple fact that Dean Edwards is not involved is a plus point... A good start at the very least...

I think a little bit of calm and general breathing wont go a miss, I like many are potentially ecstatic by the news but a done deal is not a done deal until signed... after all it could be a bunch of North Koreans... although not sure how that compares to the current regime :S

Did you go to the game?

What is the point of nominating a player who scored a single goal when our Goalkeeper kept out three unbelievable efforts.

I think Moore (striker) is brilliant but credit where it is due, Brendon kept us in this game.

Well done Brendon, a great game in a TUFC shirt.

I know that Kevin has no money to spend and I know that the team we have are a mediocre Conference side at best, but when you're dominating a game for the first 45 minutes, go into half time leading and then do the polar opposite in the second 45, one must look at the manager. What on earth does Kevin say in the dressing room?
Why oh why do people speak about Nico as if he is some sort of football god. Yes he had a good career with TUFC and as a player I liked him but just because he may be seen as some type of TUFC legend doesn't make him a great manager. Yes we dodged relegation last season but it wasn't good football that saved us. Any other club of our stature with money at this level would SACK him - we just don't have the money...

People obviously have varying opinions as do I. Lets be honest the classic Nico post game statement is a little same-same now, regardless of the team performances. We win and he says 'they are a young team... blablabla' We lose and he says 'they are a young team... blablabla' - sadly his approach to post game statements and his young team excuses are only going to further reduce the number of supporters, that of course will reduce revenue. I am no mathematician but with all the money from the pre-season sale of reduced price season tickets gone and a dwindling gate receipt, a break even gulls nest and no monthly revenue from food, kit, or sponsor contributions (90% of all current sponsors have already paid up). I think administration is very much on the cards. Personally I think it will be the best thing, a reality check that if you have quite clearly the wrong people behind the scenes at this level a club will fail. A final point, Steve Breed and Deano really put us in this position, hats off to Thea who tried so hard to invest her late husbands legacy in the club, but if you analysed everything that happened including the under-publicised theft of a share certificate by ***** (the shares were given to a said person to hold on the basis of a transfer and sale that never happened and had to be purchased back from that person who got them initially for £0, then I am sure that most of you would agree that we have been hung, drawn and quartered and as they say, left out to dry!

Verma at CB is wrong!! GG should not be at right back, he has no pace at all so it is effectively a flat back 4, horrific, everyone saying we have no players, that is because the manager made generally poor signings, it is more likely to be 3-1 than 2-2!
