Overall I thought it was a fairly decent display and we deserved to win the game. Asa Hall had a tremendous game, the best I can remember at home and a real captains performance. Such a shame Little is injured again, he looked so good while he was on and the team did not look quite the same when he went off.
Azeez had a promising debut especially having not played for 8 months. I really hope he keeps improving and is the front man we have been looking for this season. That will give Reid a bit more freedom to bang in some more goals.
We need to go on a run now and sneak into the playoffs!

Olaf Koszela
Was at the Tiverton home game today and didn't know Olaf had been loaned to them.He had a very impressive first half showing all his normal qualities. The second half he went missing a bit as Tiverton were put on the back foot. However after the opposing keeper had rushed out of his area he booted the ball against his teammate and it fell at Olafs feet. From 30 yards he hit the ball with precision into an empty net.
It will do him some good to play regular in men's football in a pretty good standard.

United v Swansea Under 23's.
I thought it was a good first half performance by Torquay but they took their foot off the gas a bit second half. Keating played really well second half and looked as if he was really trying to grab the striking role up front instead of Duku who has not really impressed so far.
Yes the referee was very lenient but most of them try to be that way in friendlies. Matt Buse was lucky he didn't get a card or two! Unless the rules have changed again an obvious back pass has to come only off the foot so the thigh was ok.
Still looking good for coming season and Exeter will be a good test Saturday.

A very enjoyable afternoon at Buckland FC starting with well organised parking facilities and all the food and drink laid on around the ground.
I enjoyed the game, with Buckland looking to be useful opposition for the gulls, and played in a high tempo. The pitch was in good condition which made for good football unlike the bobbly Bideford ground. The difference between the sides is Torquay just didn't let Buckland settle on the ball with their planned quick pressing. As soon as Kalala came on Torquay looked so much more dangerous and deservedly ran out 3-0 winners.
With 4 friendlies to go the gulls are looking pretty fit and looking good before their league season kicks off. Worryingly I saw Ryan Dickson hobbling very badly towards the dressing rooms. With Liam Davies out as well the left back position looks a temporary problem!

Truro City end groundshare
Good news for the Boxing Day game against Truro. Their game v Wealdstone today at Plainmoor has been postponed. That'll save the pitch being cut up and give our Wednesday game a lot more chance of going ahead

Torquayunited v Welling United 8/12/18
Torquay put in a really gutsy performance on a pitch that was really difficult to play on. The first two goals by Andrews and Janneh were top class and that set us up to a convincing and important victory. The whole team put in a shift and it is great to see them hassle the opposition in numbers to get the ball back. I'm glad there wasn't torrential rain during the game because I think it would have been abandoned and be played again at a later date.

Loanees v Other Players?
Torquay would really miss Connor Evans if we lost him sometime this season. He looks so much stronger than last season and is very difficult to get off the ball. Let's hope he stays until May and then goes on to higher achievements next year.

Torquayunited v St Albans 13/11/18
A solid performance from the team last night and just what was required. It was great to see Reid take his goals so well as he drilled them in so low and acurate. Once we got the third goal it was all over and it was a shame we didn't get 5or 6 for our goal average. St. Albans did appear a fairly weak side but can anyone confirm they arrived not that long before kick off.
When Kalala was on the ball with space in front of him it proved what a good player he could be. If G.J. could get his defensive qualities up as well he could be suburb. Also Kiate is a good centre half in the making but has got to get his timing right on his heading from high balls.
I just hope we can keep Connor Evans until the end of the season!

Torquayunited v Woking Fa Cup 1st round 10/11/18
I can understand how G.J. is so frustrated at losing that cup game as the fans are as well. We mostly dominated the match and had enough chances to win easily. I thought the referee had a good game over the 90 minutes but totally wrecked his performance with two so important decisions. Firstly after watching the highlights it was never a penalty as Niate got a toe to the ball before the player went down. Then he blew too early for the foul on Evans. If he had played on for another couple of seconds we would have got a penalty for a foul on Janneh.
Torquay need now to put the sword to St.Albans on Tuesday then again to Concord on Saturday and Plainmoor will be really buzzing again.

Torquayunited v Woking Fa Cup 1st round 10/11/18
Good luck to the team today. With fight, determination and a bit of magic somewhere there is no reason we cant beat Woking. If we draw today does the replay go to this week coming or the week after in mid-week. If this week our home game against St. Albans will be postponed and I don't think that will do Torquay any favours with regards to our league position. Any thoughts?

The appraisal is now done
I agree with the previous comments about the current squad. Gary Owers cost himself his job mainly through a lot of his poor
signings which left the team so weak in depth.Bawling, Benton,Regis, Wright and yes Wynter IMO seem such below average players. Did anyone really see them play or did Owers just take a chance. They now all have contracts and will be hard to move
on because who will want them?
