at least someone benefitted from him being here.Taelee73 wrote: ↑26 Apr 2023, 17:30 If/buts and maybes. I agree, the Andrews/jarvis partnership looked very promising on paper. Jarvis the big hold up man for Andrews to play off, with Dovers young captain in the middle surrounded by more experienced players, it should of worked.
For the first 5 minutes of the season Andrews was on fire, he hit the bar from what I remember. Then unfortunately he only hit the snack bar.

Brucie......which is why it was prefaced "unthinkable."
As you say "everyone has an opinion"....and deals with their disappointment in their own way.
Mine just happens to be mindless optimism.
Which is probably why I still turn up every home game.

Uncle Clarke part 812
All the talk, including that from Mr Osborne, is of National League South.
But what if the unthinkable happens and we win, Gateshead win and the goal difference is turned around?
It probably requires Wrexham to spend the entire week on the old hit and miss, coupled with the dodgiest of dodgy curries on Friday night to pick off the stragglers.....and Maidenhead to get stuck in traffic and turn up at Gateshead without their boots.....
Every straw is there to be clutched at

In the Times article today, Gary Johnson was cited as a manager who would rather win 4-3 than 1-0....should have taken the hint...

Awful game. Very few chances. Inept referee. Pity Ebbsfleet fans who watch that every week. Sadly Evans, Whitfield and Kalala were all below par in the same game. Little service for Reid. Whitfield missed a free header at the back post at end of first half. Reid blatantly held back near the end, ref played 'advantage' when the clear opportunity had been denied.
High point was the chap hitting the Crossbar twice at half time.

TUFC v Chesterfield - 21/12/19
On the subject of the referee today....will be interesting to see why Janneh was sent off. Like 100 per cent of the crowd, I was following the action in the Chesterfield half.
In the second half , how was Niate not sent off? Ok he was fouled....but to deliberately boot the offender under the ref's nose.....and just receive a yellow card. Indicative of an official who couldn't wait for the game to end so that he didn't have to make another decision.
We may start to win games if we stopped affording the opposition forwards the freedom of our six years box for a free header or two. If only there was a retired centre half on our coaching staff.

Reidy28.....Perhaps if we had an experienced centre half alongside Cameron he may actually look better, not worse. An experienced colleague would take the pressure off, not add to it.

Chelmsford - Worst Possible date?
Not ideal but think Friday 5th April or Sunday 7th April may have been a tad more difficult. Not like the days of back to back games at Christmas, one home and away. Agree with the sentiment of best possible build up is a home win on the Tuesday v Chelmsford.

Current opinions on Clark Osborne and Gaming International
This reminds me of when I used to run betting shops for William Hill. We had a customer who was convinced that Colin Montgomerie would win a golf Major. The bet was that Mr Montgomerie would win more Majors than me. My golfing prowess never progressed beyond pitch and putt at Torre Abbey, whereas Colin entered every big tournament. We currently stand at no Major wins apiece.
Perhaps Mr O has a similar arrangement re stadia. Though there are many Speedway fans who are still waiting to see the 'intended' stadium in their town.

Torquayunited v Woking Fa Cup 1st round 10/11/18
No visit to Wembley this season. Three shots kicked off the line, Woking keeper made several good saves in the first half. Dubious penalty, from my angle it looked as though Niate had won the ball. The referee saw it differently. Over 300 away fans, a lot will have a lot to tell their schoolmates on Monday. Former Torquay centre half Ben Gerring showed his class at the final whistle. Perhaps not the sharpest tool in the box.
