There's been hardly any rain in the Bay all day today. It chucked it down last night and it looks like it will again later according to all forecasts - which hopefully the groundstaff and referee are well aware of....
so if there's no comment on the OS it is because it is not in doubt.
Someone on FB says they rang the club an hour ago and was told it was definitely on.
Worst case scenario I'll have to have another pint in the Union!

Atmosphere
I agree with Bxm Foxy.
The shallow pop side is an atmosphere killer as you can not hear the guys in the middle if you are at the ends

New Stadium for Exeter?
Some interesting extra information there (if true) SOUPDRAGON but TDA IS IN FACT a private limited company and all my FACTS are indeed correct. read past the first sentence of the link you provided or check out companies house https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/07604855Soupdragon wrote: ↑19 Sep 2018, 16:40 Ah well, if it's facts you want:
The TDA is Torbay Council's wholly-owned and controlled economic development company. The lead member responsible is the mayor, with advice from the assistant director, corporate and business services, of the council. See here: http://www.torbay.gov.uk/DemocraticServ ... ?IId=26141
The TDA and the council also share a chief executive, Steve Parrock, a situation I have long believed is a conflict of interest, but it seems I am entirely alone in that. Also, three councillors (who will have been chosen in accordance with proportionality rules and selected by their party leaders) sit on the board of the TDA.
So, private limited company it ain't.
Thank you

Just pointing out that TDA is a private ltd company and are not part of Torbay Council. They are employed by Torbay Council to provide economic growth startegies. Their own "about us" page states "..... an award winning provider of business and property services....., ".
Hmmmmm I wonder why they are interested in COs building plans ???
p.s. They actually manage many of these buildings - charging rents and have many properties from other parts of the UK.
eg they renovated the SWW building in Kings Ash to be a Hi-Tech incubation centre but then let the whole building out to the NHS to house their employees after they shut down the local hospitals such as Paignton and Newton Abbot.
just stating facts...

Look up stadiarena dot com for the presentation that was shown on Tuesday by company that are supposed to be building the £40m stadium.
Note they did build or is that design the Richo arena in Coventry but the most "similar" stadium is in India, cost £60m and only has a 4000 capacity indoor arena - not a 40000 open air concert venue with "french door" style opening stands.

BBC Pull Commentary of Torquay Games
Good news.
Though I assume this statement is he first "technical hitch"
All away games and cup fixtures at home will be free of charge but the challenge to provide commentary for home games is very different to away games, where we will be relying on an internet dongle, or, if reliable, our opponents Wifi.

Torquay United unveil huge plan for 10,000-seater stadium.
"One of GI’s most successful projects is the National Bowl at Milton Keynes which has a capacity of 65,000.
GI also operates stadia at Swindon, Poole and Reading"
...so did they build the National Bowl ? is there actually stadia to operate at Swindon and Pool . This is contrary to what I have seen on this forum. Could it be the HE are misinformed ? will we see a "Guy Henderson" trophy next (£)

Perhaps Paul Sturrock will be more helpful to us when we need to start the (pheonix) club again after Osborne has decimated the current one to feed his own greed.

TUFC Consultation Survey 2017
What's all this about being unable to develop Plainmoor ? I recall Bateson stating that the popside was deliberately manufactured to be able to grow. I presume that means taking the roof off and extending the terrace back towards the road, and why can't we do the same with the away end - it takes up about half the space going back to the lane..... and before someone mentions the neighbours - they can have no legal objection and bought a house next to a football ground so have to put up with such improvements.
As for parking and sustaining league football - it did OK for the previous 90 odd years.

I'm guessing you don't have to live in the Bay to sign the petition - that's why the registration form asks what County you live in.
