New manager announced - Paul Wotton
I'm still absolutely buzzing. We have our club back. Hopefully great times ahead.

Expectations
Some good points raised above. The new signings appear to be very promising on paper. Yes the big money spenders will be expected to finish above us, as they should be, but I have total faith in our manager and how he can bring out the best out of players. Plus everything he's achieved in his career so far of course. The Notts County and Stockport managers, with respect, are nobodies so I feel we have the advantage over them in that we have a proper manager and a damn good one. I expect Wrexham to have a strong season. Not sure what to predict for TUFC but I'm hopeful for the season ahead. As someone has already said, it's imperative we keep our elder statesmen as fresh as we can.
Do we have enough firepower up front? What are people's thoughts on this?

So what had happened to Oxford City before this meeting? What does it mean that they've been reallocated?

Our League Form under Gary Johnson
Does anyone happen to have a screenshot of the league table when Johnson was appointed, or know of a website where you can look at how the table was on a specific date?

Chris Regis - new signing
Has now left the club and joined Wealdstone. Good to free up another space in the squad. Hopefully Banton and Bawling will follow him out the door before long. The Gary Johnson revolution is taking shape.

I honestly think Torquay would be favourites to beat Argyle right now. I also think many Argyle fans would love to have Johnson in charge instead of Adams

Go G.O!!
My worry is, and it's probably been said before by someone on here, that it took the owners so long to appoint him after KN was sacked (plus their comments on appointing him about what a top manager he is and has all these contacts blah blah blah) that they will take equally long to get rid of him, if they do at all. I really hope I'm proved wrong but I just can't see them sacking Owers as it would prove that they were wrong to appoint him in the first place even though it's blindingly obvious to us fans that the manager simply isn't up to task and not the man to get TUFC upwardly mobile and competing to get back into the Football League. His post match interviews are so depressing; I can imagine him sitting on a park bench swigging from a bottle in a brown paper bag

Thanks for clearing that up. I too don't do Facebook, so like some others was left in the dark.
As for the current GK situation, is Osborn still at the club? There's a rumour that Argyle's highly rated 18-year-old stopper Michael Cooper is joining the Gulls on a season long loan.

Vincent Dorel
Apologies if I've missed the memo, but do we officially know yet if Dorel is staying or going? Devon Live Sport reported 2 or 3 weeks ago that it looked likely he would be leaving but I've heard nothing since. The deadline for players who have been offered new deals has passed, and the players are now back for pre-season. Is there anybody reading this who is in the know? The club haven't yet signed a new 'keeper as far as I'm aware, so could it be that they are still trying to negotiate a deal for Dorel? I'd be absolutely over the moon if he stayed, although I'm not expecting him to.

Jason Banton
He was the reason Argyle stayed up when he initially joined the club on loan from Palace. Scored crucial goals and was the main man to stop them dropping down to the Conference. I don't know why but it seems he has lost his way since and hasn't been able to repeat the promise and form he showed in his first spell at the club and has had a number of teams in recent years. Fingers crossed Owers et Al can revive his career. A player full of tricks, skill and flair; on his day he's a joy to watch. Here's hoping.

I said in another thread he would be a good signing (hopefully he will prove to be). Just a shame it didn't happen sooner, and that it's only for a month. You can see he's got potential. He's just been wasting away under Derek Adams so I'm hoping he can be a real success at Torquay.
As for the target man to play alongside him - Blissett anyone??!

Just got in my car having finished work and Kevin Nicholson is in the talkSPORT studio with Charlton manager Karl Robinson the other guest. I've only just tuned in so not sure what time his spot started but he's mentioned Torquay a lot already. For anyone who is interested and wants to listen to the whole thing there is a catch up option on the talkSPORT website.

Striker
Plymouth Argyle's Alex Fletcher is a very decent prospect. He's only 18 and seems to have that goalscorer's instinct. He came off the bench a few weeks ago to head in a consolation goal at the end of the game and before that scored a quality volley against Chelsea's U18 side in the pointless Cheapskate Trophy (he scored 2 that night). Derek Adams however is killing the lad's development by giving him next to no game time, and on the rare occasion he does play, deploys him in his flawed one up front formation where his ultra defensive tactics leave the sole striker completely isolated. In Fletcher's case it is infuriating as he clearly has potential and goals in him. Would love to see him on loan at Torquay
