Torquay United unveil huge plan for 10,000-seater stadium.
It doesn't change what we all reckon the outcome will be (and sorry if I missed it) doesn't Riviera Stadium Ltd own TUFC or at least 91%. So why GI are named again and why they could have any say on Plainmoor doesn't make sense. I know CO is behind both but it just makes my head hurt as I assume it is designed to

GI bring the scaffolding in
It surprises me how many new stands / facilities call them what you want, seem to be built with little regard for what you might think are givens. the developments at both Salford City and FC United of Manchester are new and still growing (and Salford are professional, have the money and are more than likely in National League next year) don't have dedicated food points or toilets, at least not all round the ground. Salford use containers and caravans, or did very recently when I was last there, while FC used a caravan (small and not really up to standard for the crowds) and a single portaloo for the ex northwich vics stand end (home end). The bar is shoed in under the bar and is quite bizarre but in a good way and creates quite an atmosphere under there. and if you do happen to go on your way passing beneath the stand look up to the right on one of the first steelwork legs and there is a TUFC scarf in all its glory. No idea who put the one there among all the others from visiting fans but it was very nice to see.
I will just finish though that it is good if the ground is being maintained and can only be seen in a positive light

What the ******* hell is that?
fair point, no he doesn't, mainly because he knows if I have been good or bad all year. and generally my mutterings most Saturday tea times have maybe led him to believe I am erring towards the bad side!
anyway only joking, if nothing else there will always be a Gilbert, at least I hope so, it would have been nice to get him to Fylde to show them what a proper gull is though

AFC Fylde v Torquay United 18/11/17
As Mr owers has so brilliantly pointed out we aren't good enough. Thanks Jeff
As for the set up at Fylde I do agree it is all shiny and impressive but queuing to get into the bar past the doorman,,,,,. They have ambition and the right attitude in terms of investment and drive. And just to add insult to injury they have a goalscorer too.
Credit to the yellow army for their attendance and support. If that doesn't lift the team to even seemingly put 90 minutes in and out themselves on the line nothing will.
While we may not have an out and out goalscorer we can't keep changing and trying new players week in week out. The coaching team need to coach what we have and set up against what they have. Not saying it's easy or I have any idea but that's why I pay £13 to support the team and abuse in the name of sport, the other fans and team.
For me it's the middle of the park that is completely missing. How many times do the front line pick the ball up at the halfway and run it towards goal for no real effort on goal. There is no constructive build up to the front line. It's always on the break or a chase onto a long ball

I am going
Torquay United (1) 2
Hartlepool United (0) 1
I do feel we have options at the moment for both formation and personnel, so being positive, the players seemed to realise what winning meant to everyone on Tuesday

 that's 6!
must be good if we cant narrow down to 5 players, I didn't offer anything from Halifax as I didn't think anyone particularly stood out more than it was a solid and very improved team effort.

Loyal Fan RIP. Bill.
RIP Bill, sorry to hear about your loss Chestertorkyman
We will be at Halifax too and myself am happy to show our respect in applause, obviously not my call but feel that an applause on the 84th minute to mark Bill's 84 years of support, or at 10 minutes to celebrate his first attendance?

Torquay v Dover Saturday 7/10/17
I am going for a high scoring draw this week, while maybe not what we need in terms of points to not lose to one of the early league leaders and build on Tuesday would be good
TUFC (1) 3
Dover Athletic (2) 3
btw Wivel may well be seeing the mighty Whitby at Warrington Town tomorrow, what do you think that one holds in store?

Torquay United v Maidenhead, Match Day Thread 03/10/17
Only read the reports from last night - obviously ecstatic with 4 goals, clean sheet and 3 points, and yes it does look very much like Owers and Kuhl are getting the players together as a team and to play a type of football that is proving more effective, but lets keep grounded for a little while longer, it's going to take more than one (deserved and long awaited) win.
as a little tongue in cheek comment, although based on what is before us or at least to maybe give some credit where it is due, if you look at the man of the match thread for this game as you would expect the posts are all similar, but have you noticed that other than McQuoid (who wasn't in every post) the players are all those who were at the club under the previous management. No doubt that the new management ~(or head coaching...) team are getting that team to play together and also the players not named may well be allowing them to show themselves more effectively and in a position more suited to their talent and capabilities. Not saying this would have happened if there hadn't been the change, and that the change wasn't for the best for all concerned but if we now concentrate on going forward with what we have we may be playing in the National League next season after all.
