I think I made this very point when the kit first surfaced..... Maybe the players could feed back to the management if they think it's an issue, though much of it could be at a subconscious level.Dave wrote: ↑16 Sep 2024, 17:07 Well thank god, a very constructive post above. Yes how kit colours look to the eye of fans and to a players wearing it, vision what am I on about, peripheral vision, decision making , a player on the ball hasn't spotted his team mate making a run on his outside because because (maybe not definitely) the kit colour doesn't stand out enough, so picks the wrong option and doesn't make the pass.
There's been studies done on this, and whilst I'd never, ever want to see a red away kit, I still think the shading on the pink is too light.
This one of many, look them up.

Bishops Cleeve FC v Torquay United Sat 14 Sept KO 3pm
I'm not so much questioning PW as just pointing out that we're not (yet?) firing on all cylinders and we haven't been playing that well in the league either. Yes, it can take time; I appreciate that. I'm just trying to be honest about where we are right now.The Great Muta! wrote: ↑15 Sep 2024, 08:22 Paul Wotton is a very good manager and nobody really should be questioning him, he's only been in the job half an hour, with a new squad,it'll take time, yesterday it sounded like not 2 or 3 had an off game, but nearly all of them did, it happens to the best of teams, for whatever reason everyone has an off game, I'm going to just call it a blip, the next few games we need to bounce back and show what we really are about, I said on here some time ago ithat getting into the play offs would be a good achievement, I stand by this,..one last thing on yesterday is this, congrats to Bishop's Cleeve fc, probably the biggest win in their history, I heard they played well, and these guys really are posties, plumbers, brickies etc, so let's not overlook what an achievement for them to beat us, ex football league club with our history, so fair play to them.
I'm hoping PW can build us a strong team that can at least challenge for promotion at the end of the year. You're right that we should be congratulating BCFC - well done to them.

I would say we've ridden our luck in the league and our league position is somewhat flattering.....

FA Cup 2nd Qual Round Draw
There's no NLN or NLS games on 14SEP...... so it seems we could well be playing in the 2nd Qualifying Round.

Torquay United v Chippenham Town - VNLS - 3rd September 2024
Ran out of luck a bit on Saturday, with previous results somewhat flattering to deceive.
Hoping we can get the team popping soon, but for now, I'll go with another 1-1 draw for this one.

Charlie Baker on his podcast
I suppose some people might recognise him. I don't think I would though. When I'm at TUFC, I'm so engrossed in the event that I don't want to engage too much with those around me. Certainly, effing and jeffing and a bit of like-minded banter. But I couldn't tolerate polite conversations with strangers....

Maidstone “Not Proper Fans”
True enough. Maidstone, Dorking, Slough, Eastbourne Borough, Boreham Wood are the fancied teams alongside Torquay. So from that perspective, it will be good to see us keep our heads, whilst some of those around us lose theirs.

Torquay United vs Dorking Wanderers (VNLS game 4) - August 24th 2024
Marc White - the Dorking gaffer (founder, owner, chairman, former player and manager) - had some kind words for us at the end and gave us due respect for the W.

He's a genuine and likeable fella tbh. Has a bit of a social media presence. Makes this league more interesting.

Torquay United vs Dorking Wanderers (VNLS game 4) - August 24th 2024
Thanks for this detailed explanation. It's clear. Better get ourselves promoted in this case.....happytorq wrote: ↑25 Aug 2024, 02:29 Late to this now, but, no, they're not showing any NLS games unless it's outside of the UEFA rule 48 windows. That's usually when there's an international game on (meaning no prem/championship) or midweek.
When rule 48 says it's ok to broadcast, they'll show "selected" NLS/N games, not all. In practice it's likely it'll be our game each time because to my recollection they always have; presumably because we have a bigger fanbase.
