Re: Your worst ever XI
The worst player i have ever seen pull on a torquay shirt is jamal easter. I remember a game towards the end of our league 2 relegation season away at Rochdale and that confirmed this after many, many hours already passed of watching his dire, inept performances. He couldn't control or keep the ball, he passed it to an opponent on every occasion and his shots were as accurate as any woman throwing darts on Bullseye!! Needless to say we lost and were subsequently relegated. He was really shit. Close behind is Danny Stevens. The only thing he can do is run fast. He should be an athlete not a footballer.

Re: League 2 Roundup Thread
I,ve been away a good few years now but i didn't think things had got that bad that its on a par with Clacton!! Maybe Harris should go to Summer Bay!Fonda wrote:I'm not sure Torbay beats anywhere nowadays.

Re: Busy Summer
Completely agree. The online shop is a joke and yes we are a small club with minimal staff and facilities but for Gods sake this is where all the clubs money is made apart from tickets, sponsors and other minor incomes!! They should be on the ball and its embarrassing. Benyon left in January! Unbelievable. Not even a photo of the new kit for people to look at. They take the piss. Do they want custom?

Re: League 2 Roundup Thread
Devera is quality at this level and can chip in with the odd goal or two. If it had been us that signed him i would be pleased. You underestimate how much knowledge our fans have about most players at our level Jeff but nevertheless a good post and interested to see peoples views on other clubs signings. Got to be honest and say generally i haven't been paying too much attention in recent weeks so i can't help anybody on that score with any further info on signings.

Re: whats is the matter with us
Agree Cambgull. Not too enamoured myself with the appointment but it could be that the Cambridge job just didn't work out for a number of reasons, that happens in football. I,ve had a sleep on it and woke up feeling ok. I think as long as Eunan and Billy stay and we add a decent keeper and a few more experienced heads to the squad then i think Ling has got a lot to work with. We definately had the best of Branno so he IS replacable despite what a lot of gulls think and even if we lose Zebs its still not the end of the world. There is actually a lot to look forward to despite my postings to the contrary yesterday. We deffo need Eunan to stay and help him develop his game to the benefit of Torquay because he has the makings of a player who can go on to a much higher level in the future. COYY!!!! P.S I'm sure i read somewhere that Danny Stevens has gone, can someone confirm this for me please. If so i do thank him for his service but i will be glad because he simply is no good at this level.

Re: Martin Ling
Having read a few of the posts by cambridge fans i just hope Lings alleged tendency to slate young players who aren't performing isn't true cos we have lots of them and they need nurturing not made to be scared of kicking a football.

Cheers for that CP but we all know what happens with speculation! Would be great to get Russell back but for now i'm just getting my head round the Martin Ling thing.

Re: whats is the matter with us
I think for many fans we have had the unexpected euphoria of the playoffs abrubtly ended by our manager leaving and taking players with him. More players have since left and the fans were left in the dark about the new manager and the procedures surrounding an appointment. As a consequence, unrest and frustration was allowed to flourish over a two week period when the club let us know **** all, so we were left to discuss amongst ourselves who the next man may be. People were excited about the prospect of Forster or Baraclough or Hughes and then out of the blue the club announce it is Martin Ling. All in all it is understandable that many gulls simply blew their tops on hearing this after all that has happened to us in the last three weeks and i will support the manager but to all you do-gooders who never complain apart from complaining about others complaining, just understand what we've all had to endure these last 3 weeks and have a bit of sympathy.

Re: Do the fans count?
Its just sad that 2 weeks after having the opportunity of entering league 1, a lot of us now are hoping to finish third bottom of league 2. How things can change.
