Amazing journey
Just wondering who were the other fans there that night in the early 90s when there was supposedly only 11 of us (thoughi only remember 4 or 5 of us)
They decided not to open the bank so we were ushered into the seats!

Official Website and This is South Devon
Did anyone else notice that the copy of the two articles...
http://www.torquayunited.com/news/artic ... 10845.aspx
and
http://www.thisissouthdevon.co.uk/BREAK ... z2SbjQGww4
...were the same.
I know the Herald started by quoting the "A spokesman" and then Thea but after that made it look like they had written the article. Very lazy journalism if you ask me (I assume the official site wrote their's first?)
Or are they written by the same person?

Re: Ling Sacked
I would say Knill is a shoo-in for the job and that it will be announced as soon as contract is sorted - much more effective to work with the man you know and save the hassle of recruiting.
Also I wouldn't be surprised if the fans thoughts on this helped the decision....

Re: A Turning Point?
We drew but...
we played 90 minutes with 10 men and 1 goal down
we conceded a soft goal with 5 minutes to go
but we still bounced back
If i was the manager i would be buzzing in the changing room, gee-ing everyone up for the next game, saying
"well done guys but we still need to do better, let's make it a win next time. Take the lead ourselves and build on it. Not give away any more soft goals and we can bloody well do this and in a few weeks time we will be laughing in mid table mediocrity. Those of you who didn't perform as well tonight as you could have done, you know who you are, now step up to the plate with the others or we've got a few other hungry people ready to take your place. NOW WHO IS UP FOR IT?"

Re: A Turning Point?
I'm glad you're not in the changing room Brucie, we'd be down already if you were the moral support.
You have to build on efforts like last night and therefore take the positives and move forward from that.
That's how teams (whatever the type of business) succeed

It seems easy to me
If you look on the BBC site you will see he has got injured during the last 3 Februarys
So simple, give the lad a holiday in February each year and have him play the rest of the year...

TUFC have another 4 years to go on their Premium TV contract that Mr Bateson, that one isn't a Premium TV site it is by a different company.
That Northhampton Town one is dreadful, can't see the wood for the trees and which Muppet thinks that "Home Page" is a good Page Title, does no-one know how to update their meta data for seo???
Oh Dear...

Message to Eunan
Hi Eunan
Just so you know if you read this mate.
Irrespective of where you go, most of us real fans will appreciate what you have done for the club and wish you well.
Glad you are not going to Creepy but would have understood it if you did.
Also understand if you do go elsewhere but hopefully (and I think most of us think this) if you can give us one more year (or even until January) and help us to achieve the next step and you can make your big move (better than Creepy), then we will all be happy.
Slainte!
Simon

Re: New Training Ground at (not Barton) Forches Cross
It is about half a mile from my house and I spent many a day there while at Coombeshead Comp!
There are three fields, two of which are flat (one has two slightly smaller pitches and the other has a larger one) and one is a big slope.
Not good enough state now for professional football so assume they will be making changes.
It does drain quite quickly as quite chalky clay up there - which means you don;t get waterlogging but it does dry out too much sometimes.
the other thing is that when the wind is in a certain direction you do get a stink from the abattoir (though they call it Pet Cremation nowadays!)
Heading to Newton Abbot from Drum Bridges roundabout off the A38 it is on the left on the next hill after Stover School and before the right turn to Highweek

Re: McPhee
"Lone striker"
Oh no, I hope not.
I spoke to someone earlier and said i think there are two ways Ling will go
1 - play it tight and make sure they dont score and bank on us scoring at least two
2 - go all out, get the wind up them and scare them into losing the game - more risky but hell what have we got to lose?
Unfortunately i think that he might go with the former.
Foolish in my opinion. If it's 0-0 after 30 or 60 minutes the crowd will go dead quiet and who will be more edgy then?
Be bold and maybe play the joker in someone like Craig - again what have we got to lose?
If we go for it, Cheltenham won't know what to do, whether to stick or twist and that's when we'll be able to turn the advantage and if we play it tight we'd have to drastically change our ability to score goals (which was only good in the second half against Hereford when we threw caution to the wind).

McPhee
With no Danny on the bench, Rene off, Jarvis misfiring, I would have brought on Chris McPhee with 10 minutes to go, what did we have to lose?
He's proven to score some late and important goals, as we have found to our detriment.
Atieno and Jarvis both have potential but sometimes you need someone who has been there and bought the t shirt.
Ah well hopefully those two guys will start on Thursday and fire from the start and put the pressure on Cheltenham.
Also what we need is someone to do a "Raynor" and get one of their big centre halfs sent off! Then game on!

Even better than that (which is amazing)
Just look at the table on

Makes me smile now - didn't at the time!
