Just checked on the tickets site which at long last does not have a queue to get past, There are about 70 seats left in the bench, mostly in section B which was opened up later, far less in the family stand 30 ? and an unknown number of course in the popside. Come what may it looks like it will be the biggest crowd for quite a time and hopefully will have a great atmosphere.
Also a win would be nice as well with the sun staying out so everything is as positive as it can be.

Gary Johnson gone!
Not going to cry over this but you have to ask what is happening behind the scenes. It could be he has just jumped or has he found out what the immediate future is going to hold. I think its the former but...

Torquay United v Farnborough Tue 5TH KO 7.45
Well after suffering the away days at Aveley and Slough this was almost a pleasant experience ! . Far from the finished product but definitely a positive performance in so many areas. Defensively they looked so much better and were dealing well with the string of crosses hurled in to the box. Offensively it wasn't there in the first half but in the second half it was a different case. A good step forward but there will be harder tests to come. Now can they keep it going.

St Albans City v Torquay United - 19th August 3pm
Mellow Yellow was spot on. Defensively we were so much better than previous games and although in the second half St Albans had a lot more of the ball the majority of that was back on the halfway line playing sideway passes as most going forward were either intercepted or forced back. A game to build on.
Lapslie seemed perfectly OK at the end of the game which was a relief and the support was excellent.... at least 300 and probably quite a few more

Transfer talk.
Close time wise. I just wish they would announce them all rather than drip feeding it out. Marcin Brzozowski re-signs from QPR.... i would suggest one more for the future although certainly has potential. Hopefully the number 2 goalkeeper else I will be getting a little bit concerned !
The rest will have to wait to tonight now.

Good point. I just renewed mine for the popside and nothing was knocked off. Was not really expecting or asking for
a discount but it does say that in the details ?

Playoff Final Vs Hartlepool at Ashton Gate
The lateral flow test necessity has been looked at on a separate thread . In short Forevertufc contacted Bristol and was told that a negative test result was needed for entry. As this is at odds with what is shown in the Covid guidelines I contacted Bristol supporters services , explained what had been said ... and was told that this is wrong . It is not mandatory. Although i am fairly confident that what i was told is the correct version I have emailed TUFC advising what has happened as conflicting advice does not help

Laterel flow tests
Amazing isn't it ! . I telephoned the Bristol supporters services helpline and explained what had been said and what is being published on the clubs website. They were surprised.. to say the least. They advised that doing a lateral flow test for entry IS NOT MANDATORY and nobody should have been told that entry without one would be refused. It is purely a recommendation and by doing this are doing what they can to reduce risk. She was going to pass it up the line to ensure a consistent message is issued by all.
I am going to forward details of both conversations to TUFC just so they know. So Forevertufc.... this leaves you shaking your head and confused.

Laterel flow tests
So in addition to being socially distanced, wearing masks etc etc they want us to jump through more hoops.... and don't make it clear that this is the case. The covid policy says "strongly recommended" that a lateral flow test is taken... not you MUST have one. No issue for me as i take them regularly BUT..... as Forever has said... if you don't know what is required there are going to be interesting "conversations " at the gates. I will be following this up now with Bristol City and also let Torquay know what they are saying . Club officials do not always get things right first time !!

The National League Farce
Didn't I read that clubs have 28 days to respond ? Presuming that is correct then that is good news as the situation will almost certainly have changed by the beginning of March and who knows, loans might become grants by then ! Not that this government would ever have to change its mind of course.
