Re: Argyle fan here
Any team (Argyle) that "relies" on Nick Chadwick - lately of .........er...Chester and Barrow really must be struggling and clutching at straws. And a correction......I speak as someone in the Navy...........Plymouth is NOT and NEVER has been a Garrison town. A Garrison would suggest Pongo's (Army) and Marines - albeit there is a Marines Base at Stonehouse. Plymouth is a Naval City (Plymouth -Pompey was always known as the Dockyard Derby). Its also a dump but that's another issue..............
Also, the term "Derby" - original came from the Earl of Derby - you DO NOT HAVE TO BE FROM THE SAME TOWN/CITY - It was the original term for a local game or race. On the Continent for example Barca - Real Madrid is known as a Derby as is Standard v Anderlecht; Liverpool - Man Utd etc...

Re: Ticket Situation v Argyle
Don't know whether this has been answered or you already know but the Ticket Office at Are-Giggly is right next to the Souvenir Shop, in the Car park behind the Mayflower Stand and you can purchase PARTICULAR TICKETS there....ie. Row z, v etc.....
You can also pay at the turnstile but obviously get no say in where you go as its first come first served . hope this helps

The most humiliating pre-season result ever.....??
There are often a few shockers in friendlies, especially as clubs often don't send their strongest 11. But this?
Alfreton Town 14 - 0 Sheff Wed
Admittedly, it was a Youth XI, but dear me.......

Hold the bus...................
It is pre-season. Tiverton (didn't attend) & Bristol City (did). These games are for shape, work-outs, patterns etc and not really results based.
Personally, I am not to fussed if a new signing/manager gets things wrong in pre-season. That is the time to get it out of the system. Let's judge after 12 games (1/4 way through) when all players and teams have got match sharpness and the the table sorts itself out.
Keep faith!

Re: whats is the matter with us
A bit like Southampton, I did my dough as well. Forster for the record - first touted ages ago on this forum by myself if I may say so - at 25/1. I have been acting very smug these last 6-7 days I have to say and up until midday today I was doing cartwheels, summer hols paid for etc...
Now to Ling:
a shock - tick box
unexpected - tick box
left field - tick box
positive - tick box
do we need to rally round - tick box

disregard CUFC negativity - tick box

Re: Who will Buckle take with him?
Brucie,
Just in case they (BRFC fans) are continuing to log in here & not their own forums I will hit you with a Tyson-like right hook bombshell. There ARE BIGGER & BETTER CLUBS AND MANAGERS in League 2 than Bristol Rovers/Paul Buckle. Let us worry about ourselves and forget them.
Not every out of contract or current TUFC player would be interested in Bristol Rovers/Paul Buckle. Take Jake Robinson - decent player. My nephew plays for Northampton (no names please). Rovers/Buckle couldn't compete with the Cobblers and Gary Johnson who is a MASSIVE name at League 2 level and has/will continue to do better jobs than Paul Buckle can ever wish. Buckle is a legend in his own lunchtime. Do not forget this is a man whose mirror has love bites!! The man who was walking down lover's lane holding hands with himself!!
Crewe will come again with Dario Gradi; Port Vale with Adams........I could go on. The fact is is that Buckle may find he has bitten off more than he could chew - or maybe take loyalty lessons off Roberto Martinez.
Here endeth the rant.

Re: What is the Matter with you People
Some great points mlw - however I suppose everyone is entitled to a whinge and/or moan. The thing with sport is that many people see it as a great release and a chance to let off steam. It is immensely frustrating if that sporting interest (in this case TUFC) is falling way short of what is required, albeit OFF the field.
Another thing.........please lay off the "I've supported ....x... for ..x.. years". That is a classic trait of a Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd supporter, trying to justify the fact that they are not glory hunters, who won't support their local team (be it Plymouth, Exeter or TUFC) because "they're crap" - we have all met these tossers in our respective locals. There are 50,000 Chelsea fans who claim to have been watching them for over 20 years when they were averaging 11000!!

Re: Southend United fan in peace
I agree with RoyalGull - he would be an excellent (if very unlikely appointment). He only cocked up at Argyle the 2nd time around - bizarrely - when given loads of dosh, hence Argyle's current predicament.....!!!!!! When there the first time, working on a shoestring, he did wonders. In fact, Southend are one of my "dark horses" at 25/1 for the title...
I think the bookies/papers are putting and 2 together and making 5 - particularly as he (or his family does anyway) continue to live at his St Budeaux (outskirts of Plymouth) farm house and he is always waxing lyrical about missing Devon in the local rags, hoping to settle there in retirement .....

Re: Zebroski
Totally agree Hector...
Just because you carry the name of a "City" does not automatically make you a big club. County will always be in the shadow of Forest; City will never be as big as United; Birmingham will forever be in the shadow of Villa just as Bristol Rovers will never be as big as Bristol City - fact. Rovers were the club - now its our turn to be patronising - that had to move in with their non-league cousins at Bath for a decade because they were so skint that they had to sell their ground - very clever! Would you sell your house with nowhere else to move into BritishGAS? Isn't your ground owned by the egg-chasers? Glass houses, stones etc......Poor "little" Rochdale, Yeovil, Exeter. Are they not a Division higher?
The main case in point is Zebroski. If he goes fine - but why to you? A step sideways/backwards? He is under contract at TUFC so if and when he goes he will go for whatever amount is best for TUFC, not because of what "on the brink of administration" BRFC can afford (that last comment is copyright BBC Sport last month so take it up with them if you have issues). Also, if you can find the dosh to buy all these TUFC palyers, why couldn't you find it last season to save you from relegation? Just a thought. You have Buckle but the cynic in me thinks that he has moved for social/personal reasons (shacked up in Bristol with a certain Sports TV presenter) than professional.

Re: skybet next manager odds
I have mentioned Forster on some other posts over the last few days.
Anyway, lets not put ourselves down. We just might be able to attract a player/manager of the ilk of Phillips etc...Lets face it, these days ex prem/championship players have made a few quid and are after a piggy back on to the managerial ladder - thats were we come in. £50-60k a year is neither here nor there for them. They just want to get on the ladder. That said it would be a massive gamble to appoint someone unproven as dosh down here is obviously tight. What about somebody like a John Collins? Managed Hibs and has been managing in Belgium also (where I used to live - hence my user name!). He is out of work and desperate to get back on the ladder. After all, Lge 2 is better than the SPL, Rangers/Celtic apart. He also fits in the "made loads of dosh so salary unimportant" category!!

Re: How's this for a new manager !!
I very much doubt the Phillips link. That said, I certain Mr Paul Ince (Man Utd, Inter Milan, Liverpool etc..) cut his managerial teeth - while doing a cracking job - at then bottom of League 2 Macclesfield, saving them from conference football...........
