Hi, In reply to some of you. Mansell is now back to his best of last season and is first choice central midfielder where he is breaking up play and setting us in motion. Started off the season injured from pre season and took him a while to get his match fitness back but he is amazing to be getting through playing the entire 90 minutes and looking so fit. He has turned out to be a great signing and is Captain of the side at the moment.
After a great start to the season Bodin has spent the last few matches on the bench. He has scored some great goals and been unlucky on a number of occasions. He is playing mainly wide right and has shown a lot of skill but sometimes he does overdo it. He is now being considered for both the wide and striker positions but I have the feeling his best position is just behind the main strikers in the hole as he definitely has an eye for creating.
Good luck lads and lasses.

Blissett Signs
Hi there gulls. I haven't been on here for a long time mainly because I haven't felt it right to come on here with the mess you have found yourself in. I have found it very sad that a good club like yourselves have found yourself in this position but hopefully now you can start to turn things round. I have come on today because I see you have signed Nathan Blissett. I hope very much that he is a success for you. A lot of our supporters didn't rate him at all because to be honest he can be a bit awkward and for a player of his height does not win a lot of the ball in the air. However he can win crosses in the air rather than long balls up but unfortunately for us we rarely put a good cross in. I actually rated him as a good prospect because he does take up good positions and is very quick for a big man.
Something happened with him at our club this season because he came back at the start of the season and scored 3 goals in his first two friendlies but then was not seen in the side again.
I wish him and yourselves the best of luck for the rest of the Season and hope that it is not long before we renew our aquaintances (not in the National League !!) Good Luck.

Huxtable was without doubt the worse referee we had last season and really should be giving up the job or rather booted out of it. Terrible referees all last season but now back in the League...........the referees aren't much better!!! Good luck.

How will we do this season
Looking from the outside I think you will have a much better season based on the Manager you now have and will be very surprised if you don't finish in the top 10. Play Offs may be just out of your reach but a lot will depend on making a good start because if you do that I can see a good season as your Manager will get a committed team and that can go a long way. Good luck. Nothing i would like more than a quick return to thye Football League for you.

Levi Ives?
Somebody mentioned I'd be worried because Bristol City signed Ives. Not at all worried as he was your weakest link when we played you last season but maybe he just had a bad game against us. More worried when City can pay 2.5m for French striker. But in all honesty City are so many light years ahead of us now it isn't worth worrying about. Many years when I have been watching Rovers City have been above us but always felt if we played them we could beat them and we did on many occasions. The last few years that has gone and I just would not want to play them now!!! As regards Bodin i havent seen him play so cannot comment.
Good luck this season. I have a feeling you are going to have a good season with a very good Manager.

Ajala Turns Contract Down
Saw him in a friendly tonight at Mangotsfield and will be surprised if we sign him.Looked very light weight but quick and very much a team player.Good touches but not convinced on this showing that he is League 2 standard but if we do sign him I would love to be proved wrong.

I know its only against Cirencester Town but I see that Billy Bodin has scored a hattrick in the first 25 minutes tonight. Some who are at the game are saying he is well worth signing.

Interesting that today he has been named as one of our trialists with Myrie-Williams. So we have him and Billy Bodin on trial. Will be interesting to see if anything materialises.

Thanks for all your replies. From what i have read here I would imagine it will be 2 weeks and that will be the last we hear of it because DC is pretty ruthless on handing out contracts which is good after years of paying well over the top for rank average players. I wish you all the best for this season and hope that you can force your way back into the league. I believe you now have a Manager who could well do that because I think he is a Manager who wont sign big names but will make good signings who will make a career in the lower leagues. Good luck.

Firstly my very best wishes for a good season for you this year with all the changes taking place.
I see that we have Billy Bodin on trial for 2 weeks. Would like to know your opinions on him.It has been suggested he is a wide man but i always thought he was a striker but if he was he does not appear to have that good a scoring record.

Can you take the pressure?
Brucie, You may well be right and strangely we have not beaten either of them this season. Personally I am hoping you do us a favour Saturday and let Macclesfield sneak in!! Whatever happens there are a minimum of 1 or a maximum of 4 pressure games for us now and its going to be hell but we all know that we wouldn't swop the pressure at this stage for anything else. Regards.

Can you take the pressure?
This is a genuine question because you started the season off with a fantastic points tally including a long winning run where you looked capable of winning the League and then went on a run of games where you probably were close to bottom of the league form and yet now when the pressure is totally off yourselves and the teams you are playing you have won your last three games. I ask this because I can remember similar seasons where we have had a great run at the end and players come into the team and look like stars and then start of the following season its back to a poor start and the players who shone at the end of the season before are never heard of again?
Good luck anyway. I hope we won't be playing you next season but have a funny feeling we will!!

Club Ownership
Best of luck Guys ...that is what you need with any take over and lots of it. Can only mention Hereford and Salisbury to name two who thought they had made the right call. At the end of the day Football is a very risky business and I don't envy you,the Supporters one bit because you are the only ones that remain the same season in and season out. The Board/Owners/Directors are just custodians of your club or that is how it is supposed to work.
I honestly wish you all the best and hope you are lucky and get it right.

Woking v Torquay TUE 24TH
Lets face it Bristol City play better football than us,have a better set up and better players and will be playing Championship next season. Will I be going there........like f--k I will. Really thought earlier in the season that you were welcome to Brucie and now I would think to myself..poor old Exeter. A true supporter follows their team to Hell and back and we are both in Hell this season!! Have this feeling that we will both be in hell next season as well.

Just an Idea...
It seems to very rarely work out when you bring somebody in to work with the Manager particularly when the person brought in is senior to the Manager. I well remember the time when Dennis Rofe was our Manager and had initially done a good job but when results went wrong Malcolm Allison was brought in to "help him". It lasted about a week before Rofe went and Allison took over. I can only say it is a useful ploy if you want to get rid of a Manager although usually it would not prevent you from having the pay up the departing Managers contract.
If your Manager has a rolling contract I am not sure how much you have to pay up as I have never been sure what has to keep the contract going and what the obligations on both sides are.
