I hope he joins Plymouth rather than Rotherham, now managed by that fat ponce Steve Evans and his sidekick the cheat.

As long as they are in place and have an agenda for the NL AGM, don't see what the panic is....
Posters saying " we should have heard by now" etc. need to take a step back....
I mean it takes at least 6 weeks to buy a house!
We all know that lawyers (and accountants) take a long time. Partly to dot the i’s and cross the t’s, partly to ensure they can charge a nice hefty fee.

Taunton Town v Torquay United Tues 16 April KO 19.45.

I feared that the flabby, plodding Gulls side that we have seen too often would turn out last night. Thankfully the one with spirit and guts that we have seen less often this season showed up. Well done to the players, who gave their all for both halves and particularly during the extra TWELVE minutes where we saw an object lesson in how to play a game out when winning. Well done to the fans who gave immense support at the game.

Last night was hard to watch.. I wish I had gone, I usually do, but I feared losing and being found broken later on the M5 back to Devon. I’m too old for this. My wife left me alone with my IPad watching the stream, she doesn’t get the mental torture of being a Gulls fan. I’m so pleased, and very relieved. Big smiles today.

This does of course depend on which Torquay United side turns up tomorrow. The weak kneed, cowardly, gutless one with no will to win that went to Bath, Yeovil, that lost at home to Taunton etc. or the one with some spirit that beat Truro last week and a few odd games since Christmas. I hope for the latter, I fear the former. I’ll sit on the fence, 1-1, which wouldn’t be a disaster.

Staying Up - Relegation Battle

gullsgullsgulls wrote: 13 Apr 2024, 17:39 Looking on the bright side:

- Dartford are down so it is just one drop spot left
- Hemel are still in this, so it is 1 from 4
- Our goal difference is still vastly superior so we would likely stay up if it goes to GD
- Importantly, it is still in our own hands (granted those hands are not filling me with confidence)

Try to stay positive folks!
Sadly, the hands in question are smaller than Donald Trump’s and shakier than a fairground ride. I think we are going down. What chance is there of the long term sick notes actually turning up to play to earn the wages they have taken under false pretences for much of the season?

GULL 67 wrote: 08 Apr 2024, 15:17 Got the tickets, booked time off work, just about to get in the car, but I just cannot face it. For the first time I'm heading back inside. A combination of weather, long drive and most of all total lack of faith about us getting anything out of the game. So hope I'm proved wrong but feel totally deflated. Will try to get my head sorted for Bath.
That’s really sad to read. This is what Osborne has done to loyal fans.

Admiral wrote: 03 Feb 2024, 16:51 As much as I can’t stand Johnson (he should have gone 12 months ago), the biggest problem is the owner. How do we as supporters prevent him from progressing with his ‘plans’? Plainmoor is more important to protect than TUAFC, I hope the council stand firm.
I think all Torbay based fans should write to their local Councillor to ask for reassurance that the Councillor will act in the interests of Gulls supporters resident in Torbay and pointing out the benefits to all residents of having a professional football club in the Bay. If the Council sells the freehold of Plainmoor to Clarke Osborne, they can expect a very bad reaction. The Council is effectively hung politically at the moment, which should count in our favour.

I agree with all of the above, Johnson must go, but sadly I can’t see that he will. His pretence at “managing” this team is way beyond a joke.

Torquay Utd v Worthing 12/8/2023 15:00

I have left games disappointed before, I have left games feeling let down. I have been watching Torquay since 1964, I left early today (after goal 3) bitterly disappointed, extremely let down and bloody angry. We were pitiful today, clueless in every part of the game, shapeless and very inferior to a part time side who could have won 7 or 8 nil. This was the worst performance I have ever se3n from a Gulls side, and I’ve seen a few. Even the man of the match, our keeper, who saved us from complete humiliation, distributed the ball awfully.

Johnson MUST go, he is responsible for this joke of a team.Begone Johnson, go.

Mackerelman wrote: 09 Aug 2023, 22:08 Looking forward to our first visit to Torquay. I have to say that there seems to be just a little bit of arrogance and disrespect aimed at Worthing. You may beat us on Saturday but don't take it for granted, we maybe new at this level but we are a good young side mixed with a little experience, led by an excellent Manager.
We both know that Torquay OUGHT to win, but you’ll find little arrogance here because we also both know that Worthing COULD win. All Gulls fans have been around the houses of disappointment far too many times to assume anything. Hope you enjoy your visit!
