Defensively we looked good and despite Exodus' lack of speed there were a couple of occasions where he turned on the pace to make important tackles in the box.
Midfield was good, lots of snapping at heels in the tackle and have to say there was a lot of pack mentality around opposition players when they had the ball which managed to retrieve the ball back on numerous occasions.
Up front we were decidedly light and is where we need to look for next in the transfer market when trialists don't get offered contracts higher up. Lots of pressing by the forwards though as another positive.
Good performance!!

Exeter City Set To Get another Windfall
It appears Swansea City are set to pay £1m to City for their youngster Matty Grimes - why can't we seem to get the luck / good fortune of a discovery like that!?
I don't know any background to Grimes but appears to be a welcome "shot in the arm" for their coffers!
Maybe they could use the money to pay off some previously written off debts to small businesses to add Christmas cheer! Lol

Who will it be?
Chris Hargreaves, young manager that wants to do well and prove himself, plus has some contacts now within football especially at Bournemouth.
PS hope those that have been staying away and pledged money pay up now and come and support our team!!

Might get a decent crowd for a JPT match, so could provide some valuable extra income!

It's Finally Here!
Well Saturday August 3rd has finally arrived and another roller coaster season for us Torquay fans is about to start again to put us all through those 90 mins of highs and lows, and of course that 5 minutes of extra time hell!
What a close season it has been, very quiet on the signings front for months with AK giving press releases telling us to trust in him and that it will be ok, the fans forum with all the negativity of 'we haven't got a team, we will be left with the dregs, the new shirt is crap, all I can say is......
We have had some apparently inspired signings of either promotion winning Div II players last year or players from higher leagues that others were after - the team is looking far better than last year!
The changes behind the scenes are making us appear more and more professional. TQ1 apparently has also been improved and seems packed with features!
I for one have bought the new shirt (haven't bought one for bout 10 seasons), I will be buying a TQ1 (that's a first) cos it looks so good and I know the money goes to my Torquay.
Come kick off, as with all matches I will be on the terraces cheering My Torquay, yes mine, but am willing to share them with people who care and are passionate about their local team and glad they are in the league.
My thanks to all those for the hard work behind the scenes and for AK and CB for bringing this team together.
Now lets get out there and cheer and shout the lads to victory, get behind them and join me in being that 12th man even when things aren't quite going our way because we are looking at an exciting season no matter what.
Come on you Yellows.......,

Re: Early bird
Well I know of one person that would probably only attend a couple of matches in the season who has now bought a season ticket during the extended promotion cos it fell at the right time in respect of money options, so that's an extra £260 in the bank this season - it all helps!
So congratulations Torquay for giving it a try, hope it bears fruit!

Re: Eunan O'kane + Mark Ellis
I noticed that O'Kane was the one with the killer pass for two recent goals with little 15 yard assists splitting the defence - he appears to have settled in well at Div I level now the management has changed.

Re: Torquay United v Morecambe - 27/10/12
Can I just echo the above Two comments, yes we weren't great but we got 3 points and that is as they say the sign of a good team that gets 3 points when not playing to their best.
Morcombe were shocking and we should have put many past them if we'd upped the tempo, but the ground is bobbly for passing.
Bodin wasn't as bad as everyone makes out, yes perhaps he should try the simple passes first and he is lacking in confidence but he is getting in some great positions.
The referee was excellent yesterday.
And will the moaners please stop, yesterday we went 1-0 up and the very next attack went astray and numerous people started moaning at Stevens and the team - put a sock in it and get behind the team - constructive criticism is fine but stop the slating!
