Played for both teams but no sitting on the fence tonight, Chesterfield are sitting in a good league position and we need all the points we can get, if I was a betting man there wont be many goals in the game, a point may be the outcome with a 1-1 draw, Chesterfield don't concede many and I feel to get anything we need to score tonight. Com on the TUFC!!!!

yellowsmiffy wrote:Andy, I think Chesterfield are a mixed-bag of a side. You say rightly that they struggle to score away from home, but they also don't concede many away and I assume that is because they are a side who are happy to be more resiliant and less adventurous away from home. They won't be esay to crack tonight, especially without Bodin.

We have scored in 83.3% of our home games (15/18), and Chesterfield have scored in 57.9% of their away games (11/19).

Unfortunately we have conceded 88.9% (16/18) of our home games, and Chesterfield have conceded in only 57.9% of their away games (11/19) which is pretty formidable for an away side!! (Great team stats comparison site http://www.sfstats.net/soccer/leagues/6 ... /1234/1216)

Anyhows, it's going to be a close-run thing if we are to get anything out of tonight. Head says we will play well and draw 1-1. Heart says we win 2-1.
Agree smiffy that's why i went for a 1 goal victory for us and i said before that i'd be amazed if they scored tonight. In my opinion Chesterfield is a far easier game than Wycombe or Oxford and all it will need is for us to play on the front foot and put pressure on as we have been doing and we will win. I think we'll have plenty of chances and, like you say, they are resilient so we may have to wait a while and be patient but so long as we are creating then i believe we will eventually grind them down. They don't have too much for us to worry about up front and they will create little. Defend set pieces properly and we'll be ok. I've seen them a few times this season (at home ) and read our local press each week as well as speaking to spireites regularly and my overall general opinion is that they are a poor side.

I think the last 2 meetings between us at Plainmoor have both been 0-0 and it could well be another one tonight but like i said, keep knocking at the door and don't do anything stupid at the back and eventually we'll get the goal ( and the win ) that we need. I'm totally confident.

Still chuckling about the collision with the Ewok bit, hehehe....

Anyhoo, I am feeling mighty optimistic about tonight's game. I hope that the last couple of performances will have lifted the team, the renewed belief within the 3000 strong crowd will be felt around the ground and we will have a decent referee. We are going to win this game 3-0. Trust me ^.^

COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scarf:

Just over 2 hours to go and the Torquay boys are playing toneet, i've got full match commentary on BBC Radio Sheffield, i've got a few bottles of Kelham Island ( against docs advice so i hope my spleen doesn't burst or my liver doesn't pack up, either way it would be unpleasant :-/ ), i've got cash in the laddies account to get some bets on, i've got a super confident feeling that we're gonna win and this AND i've also got glandular fever.

Life can't get much better than this!

I'm experiencing severe bladder weakness at the anticipation of it all!!

COYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scarf: :scarf:

1-0 WIN - RENE HOWE on 80 minutes, 3 points in the bag and some winning bets! COME ON. :keepie:

Bit of a blonde answer but what's an internet radio? :-/

If you mean can you pick up radio on the internet then the answer is yes but many stations restrict live commentaries to radio only and don't allow them to be broadcast over the internet. So i'd say no. You could log on to BBC Radio Sheffield website and see what happens but i doubt you'll have any success. Good luck with it anyway mate. ;-)
