2 year deal for Hawley and 2 month youth loan for Ball. Knilly sounds genuinely delighted to have got them both.
Welcome to TUFC guys.

’Karl is a proper man. When you grip his hand, it’s a proper handshake. He’s strong and powerful, and I felt we needed a little bit of experience as well'
Well that's me convinced.

2 month for ball seems abit short seeing as is quite highly rated, i guess we can extend this loan if he does well and if he does bad hes only here for two months so can get another guy in! either way two great signings and im really looking forward to saturday now.

It's clear from those coments that Hawley has been at the top of Knilly's shopping list and so it's nice to land your top target. It would seem that we were "let down" in our other search, which although not named by AK, nearly all the suggestions seem to point to Jayden Stockley at AFC Bournemouth being the player we were after and so it would appear that AFCB and/or Stockley himself decided against the move in the end. Not to worry as it would appear that in young Ball we may well have landed a player who is a "step up" anyway - he has certainly featured at a much higher level than Stockley in their respective careers so far.

Handshakes should be banned. They're a silly stupid custom.

Delighted - two more quality signings. Hawley is still only 31 and coming off the back of a decent season in a struggling side in league 1.
Can't wait until Saturday.

Got to be honest - I was a bit underwhelmed at first at the thought of Hawley as I always had in my head he'd had a couple of good seasons at Carlisle but other than that had struggled elsewhere. But he had a much better season at Scunthorpe than I realised, which suggests he could do the business at this level.
Ball sounds a great acquisition. And we have a nice blend of the big target man plus smaller players to play off him. Gives us 3 or 4 different selections we can use depending on the scenario.
Top work AK!

after these two signings im not convinced that benyon may be a first teamer! he will start on saturday for obvious reasons but i can see these two new signings doing a lot more in a striker partnership than any other pair

I asked (rather clumsily in another thread!!) if these were 2 of the 4 Knill talked to at the open day?

Sorry must have missed the other thread. No, neither of these names mentioned - Stockley and the lad Smith from Charlton who went to Wimbledon were mentioned. I think we were still expecting Stockley. We were also enquiring after Benson and it seems Showunmi may have been available.Richinns wrote: Hi exile
