Make no mistake guys. A bruised brain is serious.
It is caused when the head has been hit causing the brain to move inside the skull.
If hit on the right side the brain moves across and collides with the left side and that is where injury occurs. It bleeds a bit and causes swelling. depending on how bad it is determines how the patient is treated. It may even take a stay in Intensive care or surgery. I know, I suffered one after a car crash and it ain't funny. i was kept in hospital for 4 days after and it was one of the worst headaches I have ever had bar none.
A bruise is caused by bleeding into surrounding tissue. In most cases it is usually muscle. But in Benners case it was his brain. It is only a mild case of bleeding to be sure and it occurs only on the surface of the brain instead of inside like the more serious hemorrhage but it is treated very seriously and can have repercussions. Memory and other functions an be affected, so they will be keeping a keen eye on him for a few days.
