Im sure theres plenty (myself included) that remember what an inside forward was. Was he the 8 or 10 alongside the number 9? :na:wivelgull wrote:Like Mr. tomogull I saw Reg Jenkins many times at Plainmoor. He was an old-fashioned burly, bustling inside forward (only Mr. tomogull and brucie will know what I mean by that) and fitted in well with Robin and Tommy.

Apathy Rules...............it's ok though, nobody's that fussed about it........
Bold prediction - Sully will start.
Just have a feeling and based on nothing more than he has impressed in the last few sub appearances and also in the reserves.
My predicted team:
Rice
Tonge Pearce Downes Nicho
Chappell Manse Harding Sully
Hawley Ball

The same complacent eleven will start and will give the same complacent performance in the first half. The second half will see something of an improvement but the late wonder-goal scored by Chappell will be too little too late as we go down 2-1.

It's not really a complacent XI, Phil, it's really only two and one who is simply running out of talent as he gets older.

Oh and by the way Andy why so lenient on the Dale this week?! I've just been reading through the Fleetwood forum members comments on last weeks thread!

I know, it's funny isn't it?!
They're a jovial bunch, I like it how I get maybe 1 reasonable response and all the others just chuck out bile. I never even said anything about them as people just that their town was a dump and I am correct in believeing that anyway! Unbelievable! Then one bloke goes on about the fishing industry and how it nearly decimated his family - maybe I should tell him I grew up in South Yorkshire where it wasn't a bed of roses living in a mining community either. You get on with it. So the boats have gone, well so have the f*cking mines pal so let's all go for a pint eh? Unbelievable again! It just annoyed me a bit and I appreciate nobody like the p*ss being taken out of their home town but jeez.
Anyway, they have more fans than us yet their forum has about 3 regular posters, hasn't broadband reached the Wyre peninsula yet then?
Sorry for the rant Matt
Well Rochdale isn't the prettiest place on earth but generally speaking I can live with that if the folk in the main are a decent set and at Rochdale they appear to be, certainly all the ones I've met are and so I don't really want to slag off where they live this week. Plus a couple of you Gulls out there know Rochdale fans so I don't want to get my head stoved in. No, seriously I've not much problem with them apart from a few seasons ago I think I posted on one of the matchday threads with them that George Donnelly was crap and I got some abuse - now I see on their forum they are saying the very same thing!
Enjoy the game mate!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

In fairness to you, Andy, I'd be the first to say Torquay is a **** ing hovel. Fortunately, what we have around it is, generally, the prettiest bit of the country. What Fleetwood have next to them is fat Mancs poncing up and down Blackpool seafront in their budgie smugglers. Torquay's nearest redeeming feature is Dartmoor. Fleetwood's nearest redeeming feature is... Dartmoor.

This fact that you have pointed out goes a long way in my mind and urges me to not be so harsh on a place. For example, Plymouth is a poohole but it is acceptable to visit if you are down on holiday say, there is the aquarium, the hoe and a few other things to see but in general it is a dump. Venture out a few miles and you're in Dartmoor or Cornwall so all in all Plymouth is ok.ferrarilover wrote:In fairness to you, Andy, I'd be the first to say Torquay is a f**k ing hovel. Matt.
Take Rotherham as another example, it is a dump, there is NOTHING to do in the town nor nothing to see and if you drive a few miles you're in Sheffield, Doncaster, Barnsley all of which are dumps too. So Rotherham in effect has nothing there nor nothing near to get excited about, like Accrington and it's these places that get the worst of the criticism from me on threads and deservedly so. If you're going to Rotherham for the ale then yes, there are some excellent pubs but if you are going to pass a few hours as a tourist before the game then you may as well sit in your car.
Anyway, just passing on the details of our match preview on BBC Sport, do these clitori know anything? First they call Billy, Billy BODEN, then they say that Martin Rice will continue in goal as Poke is still struggling with an injury which is true I grant them but he's first choice now anyway so they shouldn't imply that Poke will replace him when he is fit again. Lastly they go on to say that Kirtys Mackenzie misses out! What like he has done for the past season and a bit you mean?!! Christ! He has NEVER been a regular to miss out on anything anyway!!

The bbc/ Torquay webpage is truly awful I think the local primary school have people that have more of an idea. Have you seen the current squad ? All of the players that got released are still on there along with Karl baker and another name I've never even heard of !! That's where our licence money is wisely spent.
I share the frustration. I must admit I use the BBC sports app to look up things like tables, fixtures, live scores and results as I find it the easiest to use. However, for club info it is shockingly below par

Shame I cant make this one either but will be listening with interested on the radio hoping Downes scores at some point as have him to score at any time. Rochdale seem to be good at home so its another tough looking game.
