Talking Of Cheating....
A lot of talk of crawleys tactics yesterday,no mention yet of the ball being kicked off the spot by one of your players before the first penalty (the word cheating springs to mind).
Very surprised by torquay, did not really seem prepared or up the game..almost a rerun of our last visit. Not be patronising but i do have a good feeling about your club.nice area, nice people, have never had my hand shaken by a policeman after a game before and wished a safe journey home.Maybe therein lies the problem..almost to nice for this cynical game.
On the question of evans and raynor i and many crawley fans would love to go up this year and see these two horrible characters disappear for ever. They are both a blight on football and an embarrasment to our club.
Crawley have and have always had many decent people involved in the running of the club and despite all the press two very sensible backers that most clubs would die for.
What the future holds for us ? who knows but we have come a long way and intend to enjoy the journey. All the very best to everyone at tufc

Are you blind?
Even I could see that Benyon didn't kick the ball off the spot, he simply airkicked beside it. Unproffessional admittedly, but then Tubbs (replicating the violent motives of his manager and assistant) forcefully shoved Benyon looking for a reaction when he really did nothing wrong.
Crawley's disgusting tactics were 10x worst than any accusation of Torquay cheating. Your management team was an absolute disgrace, and I can now see why pretty much the whole of football hates Evans, a fat idiot who is a complete waste of space.
If I was in the family stand yesterday I'd have probably been kicked out because of the unsavoury things I would have said to 1) your keeper because of his disgusting time-wasting tactics inevitably deployed by Evans. 2) The Crawley scum, I mean fans, that went in the home end and even had the cheek to celebrate when you scored.
Although we can only blame ourselves for succumbing to the foul play demonstrated by Crawley, as mentioned in other threads we totally lost our heads. Tactics were inept too, shouldn't have gone 4-5-1 and defended so deep at home against lower league opposition.

Whilst I understand GFH's comments in the main he should not refer to the Crawley fans in the family stand as scum - they have a right to support their team and if it had been the other way round I would expect our fans to celebrate what turned out to be the winning goal.
Yes, I know they were advised not to travel if they didn't have tickets to the segregated areas but that doesn't mean they are scum - and I would go further and suggest that this comment demeans the user and not the target.

Use of the word scum a bit harsh. It was the F.A Cup you can't really blame them for celebrating and the chances that a few would be in the home end were high. It depends I suppose on the level on celebration. Turning to the opposing fan next to you, sticking up the middle finger and screaming "HAVE IT!!!!!!!" into their face would certainly be a slappable offence.
Agreed, I had no problem with it personally. Didn't find their celebrations excessive.

Allright okay take it back, but they shouldn't have been in there. That's the point I was trying to make.

Had torquay done the sensible thing and made the game all ticket our "scum" would not have been in the home end would they gullsflyinglow ?
And fancy celebrating our goal..vermin indeed.
Benyon knew exactly what he was doing when he kicked the ball off the spot..cheating simple.Sentiments on evans and raynor already expressed, take this on the chin and move on,all the best.

Yes ELC - we have to take it on the chin and we are - the vast majority of comments on this site have been level headed and balanced.
Congratulations on your success and enjoy your day in the sun.
I would very much have liked to say well done to your team too - it is only a game after all - but even you have to understand how the manner of your victory has been utterly compromised by those truly awful tactics planned by your team management and the blatant intimidation shown to everyone at TUFC.
They do not deserve respect and you should not be surprised at the reaction from us.

No they wouldn't. 'gullsflyinglow' - that's funny! What league are you in again?!Evans Love Child wrote:Had torquay done the sensible thing and made the game all ticket our "scum" would not have been in the home end would they gullsflyinglow ?

Well no he didn't because he didn't kick the ball away. I just told you that. Your players kicked the ball away several times - left back that eventually got sent off in the first half, centre mid in the second half, brodie continuing to run with the ball in the second half when the ref had already blown for a free kick.. How you think we cheated and you didn't is beyond me!
Yep, all the best to you too.

We need to get over it and move on. We knew what exactly what Evans and Raynor where about and didn't prepare simple as.

Whereas Evans Love Child deserves some credit for coming on here speaking the truth about his management, you can't really go down the cheating route mate as that's one example of Torquay (cheating?) There's about 100 seperate incidents I could talk about with Crawley involved.
Nonetheless, sadly I think he's right it wasn't really intimidating enough, I think we would've stood more of a chance than if it was away.
Facts stay the same Crawley won Torquay lost. Just hopeful we don't put in an abject performance against a Hereford side who've recently sold Manset, 3 points for the taking. Or maybe not.

In some ways this was typical Torquay United IMHO. We all knew Crawley would come down and unsettle/bully/intimidate and thatas just the management! They won, we lost, we have to move on although it's still raw and hurts like hell. We we needed to be up for it we weren't and thats happended before. Colchester springs to mind when we went down. Mentally not strong enough as a unit, and the same yesterday. Just be interested to see who they get in the draw and if its Man U, Everton/Chelsea I'll be even more p***&^ off
Oblivion!!!!

well said modgull.
i wish posters on here would deal in facts.
we got outhought and outfought. we lost. get over it. we are in league 2, doing ok and if someone had offered us round 4 in the cup and out we'd have all, and in all honesty, taken it every time.
as for the "scum" comment that is bang out of order.
am i "scum" then for being in the home barnet end when we stayed in the league?
my mate and i (a barnsley fan) jumped up and down like idiots when we scored, much to the annoyance and abuse from the barnet fans - and then we were promptly escorted to the away end by the stewards!
you would sit/stand anywhere to watch your team if the need arose. i know i did and i would do it again.
