Oh jeez Teenagegull, you've invited a discussion about Bodin now. Envisage each member sat down with a bottle of whiskey and their head in their hands screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! NOT AGAIN!!

Bodin has been good in parts this season, has had a few good runs and flicks but is largely ineffective but he was last season too so IMO no improvement. He also doesn't score and so no improvement.

Overall we are left with the same player that we had last season IMO.

I'm not as angry about his inclusion now because there is nothing I can do to get Bodin out of the team (not because I don't like the lad but because he doesn't warrant a starting berth although now we have Cameron i'd rather let Bodin start). I just have to support him as I've always done on the pitch at least.

In his defence I do strongly feel that Ling and now Knill are using him appallingly badly but Bodin too has to take some responsibility for his own performances. If we get a cohesive attacking unit that clicks and plays with a high tempo and with players in support, not for 20 minutes in a game, or a half but for a longer period on a regular basis then I do feel we will see the best of Billy. I don't yet know how good that will be or what that will mean but at the moment it's same old but I can see more in his locker if Knill would make his f*cking mind up if he wants all these pacy tricky players to go forwards or fanny around with it in the middle for large periods.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

He's getting better every game. Is it Knill, is it the team around Bodin, is it something else? I haven't a clue, nor do I care, just so long as he keeps it up.

I think he is possibly what is known as a luxury player. When everything is clicking he looks good and when we are struggling he gets lost (in a creative sense - he does work hard now) and we perhaps look a man light at times.

In parts this season we have looked really good and Billy has contributed to that and in parts we have looked really bad and so he has struggled to create. Last season we were just awful all round and probably spent about 3 minutes of our season in opponents halves so that could be an excuse for him although he was really atrocious last year.

If the sign are good then let's keep attacking! :scarf:

Regarding Chapell's injury, I actually tweeted him just to say well played and was their any injury and he said no he was absolutely fine. Knill has previous of talking absolute cobblers on the official site with regards to players (Poke being the prime example) so i'm not sure how honest he's being. It's a cop out answer to mask his decision.

To be fair, we started the season with two left backs, three centre-halves and a centre-half/right back.
Ideally the back four will not change much. You need competition in the midfield and up front but a settled back four will hopefully play most of the season together.
What would be the point have a third senior centre-half on big wages sitting on the bench?

Agreed but we don't even have a youngster like Macdonald with any sort of experience. We either play an absolute rookie or a full back there. A Macdonald type signing ie young player from a decent club should be here in my opinion.

Because he's our highest paid player, pretty sure he's on 70k plus bonuses, that's a lot of the budget on him!

I see what you are saying Phil but I presume Knill is aware of Aaron's injury history and he is now another year older. Having McKenzie who has not played for ages in the first team and who is vastly inexperience as sole back up for Downes AND Pearce is insane. I'm sure Kirtys could fill in admirably for a game or two but what if Downes or Pearce are out long term? I'm not sure Knill likes giving relying on youth.

Our third centre half should be McKenzie and we should have a capable back up in 2nd spot incase anything happens to Downes or Pearce. It's not just cover for one player but for both.

ferrarilover wrote:Just seen the FLS highlights. What game were they watching? What they've done is show every single shot that Newport had in the match (all three) and made out as if they were all over us. If you can't be bothered to send anyone to the match, at least have a look around the internet to get an idea of what might have happened. I wouldn't mind, but it's absolutely everywhere that we should have won.

Matt.
So the BBC are in on this conspiracy as well now, are they?

So not only was the referee against us in applying the rules and declaring the team who scored the most goals the winner...the BBC have joined in by showing that Newport scored more goals than us and therefore, surreptitiously, making it look like Newport won. When they didn't. Well not 'properly' anyway. Well, Ferrariland properly, anyway.

Dastardly, leftie, do-gooders.

Bloody hell, we'd be top if we had won every game and not lost or drawn them! It is just not fair!

The league table should reflect artistic merit or something. Not points you get for winning games! Bloody cheats!

Just watched the highlights on the youtube link a couple of pages back. Well, I now feel much happier having seen that.

Some people on here are so bleeding miserable, they need to have a word with themselves. What a depressing minority of fans we have, spreading their doom and gloom all over the site. Sheesh.

Looks like we were playing good passing footy with plenty of intent and chances at goal. Nothing to worry about in my opinion, it is coming together nicely.
Mmmmmm, beeeeeeeer.
