Modgull wrote:[usual boring statement removed] - that was not as bad a performance as many are making out. Pearce had a bad game and with such an early booking there was always a good chance he would get a second but until then we had had the better of the game and created by far the better chances.

Its not going for us at the moment but it will turn when we get a fully fit squad available.
Why is this post being censored? It was not abusive, did not break any forum rules. who the hell has the right to alter my post before it even reaches the thread?

I assume someone think its funny to prevent members posting certain groups of words. I am appalled by this. I don't suppose anyone will be concerned but I will not post again on this site . Shame - I've enjoyed the site and been a long-standing member, but this is just beyond the pale! Goodbye and goodnight.

You've obviously missed out on the long running in-joke.

If this "appals" you, may I suggest chilling out?

Sorry you feel that way.

Had you been reading this site for a number of months you would have noticed that Brucie and Wivel often/always agree with each other, usually resulting in one or the other making the same statement you had made.

It got boring reading I. Agree. With. Brucie all the time so, for a little joke, it was added to the word censor list and changed to read [usual boring statement removed]

In the same way "ferrarilover" was changed a year back - it's a bit of a laugh and neither of the main protagonists have complained, and yours is the first one that we have received about this in spite of a few others bring affected by this.

We do aim to have a laugh and a joke on this forum, usually harmless banter. Sometimes it gets a bit OTT and we knock it on the head - and it could be that this joke has run it's course.

It is just a shame that you took such offence over this.

Utterly boring today. Plainmoor is like a morgue, the football dire and uninspiring. This is life under the management of Alan Knill.

Calamity in goal, almost cost us the games a couple of times while BBC wrongly state that Mansfield wore our away kit. Barely 2100 Torquay fans there today and there won't be many more while it continues like this. Poor football, poor results. A poor team, 4th from bottom of a poor league.

Mostly agree with much of what has been posted. Hector is right - only us diehard fans will turn out to watch 'football' of that standard. It's all up in the air. Someone accused Mansfield of playing 'hoof ball'. Well, if that's what they were playing, what were we playing?? Having said that, I thought it was slightly better than against Harlepool and York. Had Bodin's shot gone in off the post, I think we would have gone on to win comfortably. Mansfield are what's best described as a rugged team. I try not to criticise refs but I did think today's ref seemed more ready to penalise us than the opposition. It would be interesting to hear what one of our local referees thought if reading the posts on here.

I thought the defence looked reasonably solid with O'Connor and Pearce having a good first game together. But up front - well, what can you say? Chappell had a very quiet game, Hawley was ineffective, Azeez looked dangerous but didn't really achieve much in my opinion - he definitely needs to get some practice in on his heading! Bodin had a decent game I thought. He seemed to be playing in a slightly different role behind Hawley and Azeez instead of being stuck out on the wing. Modgull posted that we will be okay when the injured players are back. Well, apart from Poke, there's only Downes and Harding out. We're missing Downes of course, but young O'Connor had a solid game. And would anyone really pick Harding ahead of McCourt ?

Just watching the FL show and the amount of very soft penalties given makes our claims today seem very reasonable !

brucie wrote:I actually thought we we were (up to the sending off) the better team - that was actually the best I have seen us play in the three home games I have seen so far.
Knill changed the formation and we looked alot more solid at the back and were not overrun in midfield. That formation would work well if we had Rene Howe up front but Hawley isn't the answer as he continually lost the ball.
O'connor looked a class act - when Downes is fit I would try and extend his loan and play three centre halves.
I thought McCourt did well also.
My first view of Azeez - he wasn't great but looks to have more than Callum Ball.
Mansfield were truly terrible - how on earth are they in the top half of the table?
Yes there were things wrong but in patches we played some nice football.
Trouble is with Pearce suspended we are nailed on for another defeat on Tuesday and then have another really hard game on Saturday.

Oh Tezza, the lengths to which you will go simply to swim against the tide are highly commendable. I know many, many interweb wind-up merchants, but your persistence and dedication is absolutely beyond reproach. Top work.
