I don't moan which is nice. Bury was a lovely welcoming place and easily found. I enjoyed my time there so much I am planning to go and live there as soon as possible as are other TUFC fans who share my passion for it.

To be honest Matt, who cares. After all it was only a few short weeks ago, we lost 0.3 at home to York and a fair few of our fans were panning York as utterly dreadful, remember.

After a promising performance last week, that is a good win. Whether the performance was a good one or not, as Andy hinted, probably doesn't matter - like it doesn't when we lose - because the result is what matters.

Some will see one win now as the answer to all that has gone on before - one swallow doesn't make a summer - but it is encouraging, at least. I was surprised to see that Pearce had been dropped - I thought he was our best player against Pompey - so whether it was luck or judgement that saw this decision work, I guess those who were there will confirm.

But we have now won three out of 15 and are up to the giddy heights of 21st instead of in the bottom two, as we would have been, had we lost. So, I suppose there is plenty for us to celebrate... o:)

I had written a comprehensive match report here but I have deleted it and replaced it with something that many of you i'm sure will appreciate even more. A big blank space in which to put your positive comments and praise for the players yesterday. I thought the thread was looking a bit sparse with congratulations so I thought this could be the place to do it.

Of course if you want a balanced view of the game and not from someone like me which i'm sure you do then i'm sure if you visit the other Torquay fans forum then you will be suitably accommodated. There is no negativity on there and a win at Bury and Knills extensive use of the loan system to amazing effect is eulogized about.

Nobody really gives two f*cks what I write even though I was there so please do read other accounts to help you make up your minds.

Ooh it was really wet and windy. Oooh I should have put me Parker on. Ooohh it was blummin marvellous.

In fairness Andy, we have three first choices for two CB positions, so he has to leave out someone. If he plays Pearce, then people start to question why we extended the O'Connor loan.
Benyon up front with McCallum was the change we all asked for after the last game and, given Knill's homework on his former side, I guess he preferred movement and workrate over hold-up and guile which, having not had the benefit of reading the scouting reports, none of us could really judge either way.

Given that last year's PO finalists are currently bottom and that Rovers beat Oxford today, we can reasonably suggest that matches in this division aren't really a contest of skill. Today, we read that we were bollocks and got three points against a pretty poor side. Last weekend, we were pretty good against a pretty good side and got a point. We were no worse than Oxford and got humped 3-1 and we more than matched Rochdale, only to get beaten 1-0. We weren't a whole lot better than Chelts and scored 4 goals. This division, more so this year than ever, is a coin toss. It really wouldn't surprise me to see us take a point or three against Chesterfield.

The fans today were great today but the ones who took in the game like students of chess rather than the loons singing would probably be better at commenting on the game because they are right and clever and special and reserved and clever even more and understand the game. I just turn up and sing, I don't even know who half of our f*cking players are to be honest and as for the scoreline, I presumed it was 3-1 at the end although I couldn't really see due to the inclement weather. The other lot will tell you. They know their onions. Yeah, it was definitely 3-1.
