Quite possibly the worst game Ive seen in a very long time. That's 90 minutes and £13 I wont see again. Spineless inept and we never looked like scoring. Rochdale deserved the win just for actually having shots on target which is more than we did...

And Rochdale were just a bad. Have a think about it, we were so bad that people in the crowd were considering self-harm to pass the time... and they scored with their first real chance on 86 minutes. How good can they have been?

We were both Evo-Stik standard.

Matt.

They didn't have to be good to beat us today. Even Daventry would of beaten us playing like that. Rochdale weren't that good either but they didn't have to be. They were the better team on the day. But then again I'd say even Daventry or Brackley would of looked like world beaters against our shower today.

Seeing as my ST doesn't cover cup games, I thought I'd buy myself a ticket for the new stand today but what a waste of £21. A totally inept performance and my thoughts of taking a browse in the club shop afterwards (Xmas is coming) nose-dived.

Individually, only Downes and O'Connor deserve credit. I really like O'Connor and he is a good solid player for somebody so young. Sadly McCourt continues to deceive (no idea why his loan was extended). Mansell played marginally better than in recent weeks but up front we were dire. One shot throughout the whole game that I can recall and that was after we were 0-1 down.

Before today, there was always the chance of a good cup run. Now we have only the league to "look forward" to. The season is unraveling rapidly and with the league leaders coming to town next week followed by a local derby a week later, we're in freefall.

The attendance today was shocking but it would be interesting to see how many of the crowd actually reside in Devon. The area doesn't deserve a team and I have to say that if it wasn't for the fact I have a ST, I probably wouldn't come down again this season.

Tonight, I'm thoroughly p***ed off.

To be honest I thought we were pitiful. We couldn't pass, couldn't tackle, couldn't hold the ball. Rochdale were far better and they didn't really get out of second gear. We looked dispirited and beaten for much of the game. We didn't test their keeper until the last few minutes, and then only once. Awful game to watch, I am now very fearful.

Wow, that was horrendous. £18 for that. The worst part, I cant actually remember their keeper making a save. We were woeful, CB's and Rice apart.

Those who bemoan the crowd size need to get real. A devalued cup competition, against a team from our own division, lacking in attraction, on the back of the most dismal run of form...just why, because it was £13, should anyone lift their backside to watch that hopeless shower. Exactly what do TUFC do to seduce the supporter to part with £20 odd pounds, to watch an inept team, managed by an inept manager? The crowd is more than our hopeless football club warrant.

I am a season ticket holder but there was no way I was going today because the portents were obvious. Why, near Christmas, with family to support, would anyone be tempted to go to the morgue that is Plainmoor when the are 101 better things to do?

A cup game, that to be honest, I didn't care if we won or lost, because I have been reduced to a state of apathy by the useless manager and team masquerading as TUFC.

We lost, at home, because we are crap. Our manager is crap. Our players are either crap or they do not give a toss. The sooner people wake up to this, the sooner, perhaps, something will be done about it.

Unfortuantly could not make it today due to late unforseen circumstances !! Given my record down there maybe thats why we won !! Seriously though i listened to the game on the internet and it sounded like we were always comfortable and kept a clean sheet which is always pleasing. Having Hogan back was a major boost as he links so well with Henderson , Of course i am happy to be in the 2nd round for the first time since time immemorial but i worry for Torquay as apparently Lillis do not have a save to make and we were not at our best , i am sure things will improve but i would seriously consider Knills position as apart from a spell at Bury he has never done anything as a manger and has all the motivational abilities of a damp squid. Anyway i am off to a celebratory beer !

You are right about Knill and when people get bored of keeping their fingers crossed we may be able to get rid of him.

What a pathetic, gutless performance, feel sorry for the odd player who clearly cares....Downes, Rice , O'conner ......the rest can take a running jump

Once again no leadership on the pitch (for Christ sake Mansell stand aside as captain will you....you are just not a leader)

The bottom lines is I don't think many of the players actually want to be playing for Torquay

Loanees forced to come here on loan and players who failed to get contracts at other clubs and hence Torquay was their only chance of staying in the league.

Some of you may be old enough to remember our cup exit against Bognor Regis, I was there, we got played of the park, but the thing I will always remember was 2 or 3 of the Torquay team that day in tears after the match.

I just wish today's team cared as much

It was a drab game but given away by poor substitutions. To put Craig on wide left and take off our biggest threat Chappell was a big mistake. If Craig replaced McCourt it would have made sense as he was tired. I nearly fell off my seat when the manager made all three substitutions at once. It was a bad game but we were in it and had the chance to stay in the game I feel the manager gave the game to Rochdale on a plate.
We were beaten by a better side but we could have got at least a draw out of this game, all the players hard work in the first half was thown away.

I actually admire knill for taking the chance with the triple substitution. The rest of the team had failed to muster a chance in the first 75 minutes and a change of tempo was needed.

Granted it did not work...but the result was down to the attitude of 8 of the team who started

We must not get angry with the players as the poor darlings will also be suffering tonight.

Please refrain from being negative about the players as they are sensitive souls and we must pull together to give them all our love and support.
