Well here we go again - have a good feeling for Chesterfield, they are on pretty bad form at the minute and we haven't lost any of our last 2 in the league! So time to get positive and get behind the lads again! Much to fight for !!!
1-0 Gulls McCallum with the goal!

Aside from demolishing our conquerors Rochdale the other night 3-0 and playing stuff not out of place in the championship? My positive message is that I believe there is a way that Knill can overcome Chesterfield but will he be clever enough to know what it is? If we let them play we'll be done 2 or 3 and if we let them play and let them use their width to full effect then it could be 4 or 5. I'm not saying this for effect, they obliterated Rochdale for long periods on Tuesday night and if we're at least not up for this then we've no chance of coming away with any points IMO. Another positive for those going is that I fully expect it to be an absorbing encounter with plenty of goals.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

You are right though, their recent league form is poor............................... but so are we.
So long as the lads put in a shift to a man and endeavour to compete then I guess that's all we can ask. COYY!!

I think if I had not seen them play on Tuesday night then I might have said we would have had half a chance if we put in the effort but Chesterfield were superb just about all over on Tuesday and therefore I am extremely worried. Rochdale didn't do too badly either, they were organised and solid enough but they just were too slow on the night and given we are prone to lengthy bouts of pedestrianism it could turn out to be a long old afternoon. I'm always hopeful though and if we get balls in the box they looked like they could struggle with that.

They may be tired if they played tuesdee - may rotate ect, some times its best not to know things though and i haven't seen em play for a few weeks so perhaps i can be a bit more blindly optimistic! - if we don't get anything tomorrow hopefully we can see an improvement in our performance from the Rochdale game and that will be a positive!
Still believing !!!

We are two games unbeaten in the league and picked up twice the amount of points Chesterfield have in the last two games.

I think so long as the players can respond and give a massive effort to banish the ghosts of last week then that will definitely be a positive to take to Accrington regardless of result and who knows, on the day we might come away with something.

I think we have good players but we are not a team, confidence low, constant changes (some through bad luck) and no master plan, just a lot of hope.If i was a betting man I would put a chunck of money on Chesterfield,i'am sorry to say.

Following on from Rich's post, we have a better record than Chesterfield over the course of the last 8 games. Fine, they hit the heights on Tuesday in a meaningless friendly, but they are, generally, in terrible form. It's an embarrassment to the division that a team can be so poor, yet so well placed.

I appreciate that Frenchgull but it's annoying when we do have a positive thread and you post negative things when there is 101 different threads to post that in.

People like negativity on here so it's no big deal. Many like yourself clamour for positivity Teenagegull yet if you look back on the Bury thread when we dug in and ground out a result which was well overdue there were only about 10 posts after the game commending the lads for the performance! For all the harping on some do about positivity, when we do get something positive to cheer about they can't be f*cking arsed to come on and even post a few words of appreciation. I'm not getting wound up about this anymore as it is quite clearly hypocritical and so long as I give praise when it is due then i'm doing my bit. I'm not responsible for other people's agendas. So I wouldn't get too het up about it mate although if we are being technically pedantic about it then yes you are absolutely right about this thread being for positivity only and not negative comments like mine and frenchies.TeenageGull wrote:I appreciate that Frenchgull but it's annoying when we do have a positive thread and you post negative things when there is 101 different threads to post that in.
