Have to say how good Ruben Reid was today! Made Hawley look like a school boy.

Got the ball turned and ran at the defence, gave a forward pass
Hawley got the ball went backwards and gave a sideways pass

Gutless, spineless, passionless, gormless, useless, pointless, just about any word ending in less I can think of, we can't pass 5yrds, we don't know how to move off the ball, no idea how to cross a ball into the box, switch play, what's that, go from Cinderella to Jack in the beanstorck, the goal, try having shot, for Christ sake we are terminally crap.

What formation was that? anyone know I haven't got a clue, was Hawley a defender, left winger, forward, right winger, central midfielder. Did Mozika have a free roll in the team, because he didn't seem to have a clue what he was supposed to doing, what in gords name are we doing on the training ground, watching re-runs of only fools and horses.

Thank god for O'Connor today, did a great job as right back, right centre back, left centre back and left back, and Billy Bodin tried, good on him.

Knill on the radio bemoaning mistakes.

Has the clown only just noticed that we are letting too many goals. We were saying this in September.

His interview just further illustrates why he should go 'I'm saying the same things every week!' - well bloody do something about it and if you can't then clear off.

Just does not inspire any confidence that he has even the remotest clue what he can do to change things. He talks as though it's nothing to do with him.

Just go Knill - he has to go. This cannot be allowed to continue as if Ling was sacked for 'footballing reasons' then what justification is there for keeping Knill.

Exceptionally depressing.

What is most telling is that we have had a long time now to learn from mistakes on the pitch and yet they crop up every single game without fail. Defensively we are shambolic, our organisation and line is almost non-existant. You can see it every match- it is only a matter of time before we get caught out each match, within 5 minutes Downes was found on the wrong side of his man, takes the Yellow card, can't play with the same intensity for the rest of the game. And so it continued, time after time, we were lucky to not be at the very least 2-0 down at half time.

Our full backs get caught out of position all the time, guilty of ball watching, not staying tight to their man, it is just basic errors, stuff you can work on on the training field. Listening to the world's most dispassionate radio interview on the way home, Knill stated that we go into each match trying not to concede, and that he keeps saying the same things every week; he is clearly out of ideas - apart from of course..... trying to loan in another striker.

Bodin was double marked all match, he struggled to have any impact on the game- no blame attached. Surely with an extra man at our disposal someone has to step up with a bit of creativity, make Argyle re-think their plans a bit. Quite simply we showed nothing. No urgency, no innovation, 5 yard balls square and backwards, we looked toothless going forward. Chappel stung McComick's hands with a couple of fizzers from distance, that should have been a clue, sadly we just couldn't get near their goal until it was too late.

I can't fault our effort, we get stuck in, we keep going until the last minute. There doesn't seem to be any 'in house arguments' the sad fact is that we just are not very good.

I would have Nicho, Lathrope, Thompson and Yeoman back in the first team squad immediately and freshen things up a bit. There are too many players guaranteed a start even though they are playing so far below par. These players I am sure would love another bite at league football.

Maybe I am overly emotional because it is Exeter and Argyle we have lost to, even so, all 3 westcountry opponents over this festive period are hardly worldbeaters, we have all had the same schedule to contend with. 1 point from those 3 games just isn't good enough, and not enough evidence to suggest we can build on the 2 (albeit well earned) 1-0 wins at the start of the month. In both of those matches it really shone through just how good Marquis is at leading the line. Without him we look a shadow of our former selves. The most telling thing therefore is that currently that makes us a one man team.

Congratulations to those who saved their money today, you got the decision spot on. Today, it pains me to say, was a waste of time.

If we still can't afford to sack Knill, which we will likely be told is the case, then at the very least can we get those out on loan back. They helped us stay up last season after all.

Will not settle for anything other than 3 points on Saturday.

Cracking post Ben, although with Marquis out, surely this now makes us a no-man team?

Yeoman is a strange one, finally looked to have stepped up at the end of last season with some mature performances and important goals, and then is dumped out on loan this year. Why?

Nico coming back into the fold is pie in the sky stuff. I would be stunned if he ever plays under Knill again. Therefore.....I hope he starts on Saturday

Just got home, some thoughts.

We were disappointing early in the match, Poke made a very good save, and then Reid fluffed a good chance for Plymouth. While we had a lot of first half possession we never really did much with it, a few speculative efforts was as close as we came. Plymouth played on the break and did it fairly effectively although the conditions blocked out both sides.

In the second half, quite simply, we were crap, they were average, and the biggest difference was the desire, Plymouth had more and deserved the win. McCormick kept us out with some good saves, and his control in the air was evident, can see why Plymouth fans rate him.

Poke perhaps should have been sent off in the first half, glad he wasn't, would have been more behind.

Poor turnout from Gulls fans, but that didn't disappoint me to much, the silence did, outsung by the home fans. Also, about half of the fans left as soon as the second went in.

Dissapointing day, it's going to be a struggle, unfortunately Plymouth were better, and they look a side who are ready to push up and mount a play off push.

I think the ref was right for a yellow, definitely no clear goal scoring opportunity stopped

Bit harsh 888 away fans in really horrible conditions to travel in, probably more than plymouth brought to us!

Also, I think it was a goal scoring chance, even so, if it wasn't, still a very violent challenge.

Can't agree with you tufcjeff, was never a clear goal scoring opportunity from that position out wide, as for the fans, that was fair enough turn out, weather, money, results, performances.

Edit, starting to think tufcjeff could be a Plymouth fan.

It was an alright turnout but not compared to recent seasons, but I must admit, I was considering not going due to the weather and our position, but ill be honest I don't get to many games atm due to ill health.

still think we have the team to stay up, but Exeter and Plymouth both had more desire than us
