An appeal would probably get dragged out so by the time a decision was made we could be relegated anyway. No point delaying the inevitable.
TUFC never fails to let its fanbase down.

Not necessarily.
The language used is a little confused (what's new). The club can't withdraw their appeal because the club didn't speak in the first place. The charge and sanction are against the player, not the club. The player either appeals or doesn't and the club either supports him or doesn't.
What isn't clear here is whether Joss has withdrawn his appeal or if he maintains his appeal, but that the club have withdrawn their support.
There are scenarios in which Ladders could be innocent, but where the club would decline to support him.
This change doesn't necessarily indicate guilt. There are a number of possibilities and, which of them exists will be made clear once the next few weeks play out.
Matt.

it just gets worse! no doubt we'll be paying his wages for the rest of the season! absolute joke that we're paying him, and cooper, a no doubt good wage to do **** all, and they'll both leave at the end of the season. piss take. I fully understand why we will be in administration within the year!

I don't get how the PFA are conflicted given that they wouldn't be representing Banks - especially in light of the fact that there had been no complaint by either the club or player....unless there now has been?

He chewed it over for a night and then decided he'd bitten off more than he could chew.

I expect he's had an offer for next season, get your ban out the way and we'll offer you a contract for next season.
Thanks very much Allan ---- Torquay. I hope this has not happened. These things go on.

Unless Labitie will sign for next season NOW, then sack him.

To me it appears that the player, after a chat with the club, has pleaded guilty, good, that's at least being honest.I would have thought that if this is the case he leaves Torquay at once and we save the wages plus it could be just another reason to give the team another reason to fight against adversity, good player but if you can't play it's the same as having Renaldo at the club as he can't play also.

The HE says the PFA chairman who would normally support the player plays for Chesterfield!! It really has been a bad season!
