Good player for us, was in general very good over the first half of the season.
Any Argyle fan who tries to tell you he's no good is talking absolute bollocks.
He's better than League 1 football.. If he signs for you then I'd 100% want you to win promotion and it would be a nice little excuse to come up and visit Plainmoor again this season.
Really feel he has the potential to become a real fans favourite with us and also great to hear that we beat off by the sounds of it some pretty stiff competition for his signature!
Also, for quite possibly the first time ever in living memory, how encouraging is it to hear a new player compliment us on our Training Ground!!!!! It just goes to show that all that hard work and hard cash (thanks again, Thea) are beginning to reap rewards with both the Cat 3 Academy decision and now the signing of Luke Young.

Well done to all concerned.
Indeed - rumour has it he turned down Colchester (League 1 for more money) in order to stay in the area and play for us.
Bizarre Sheridan did not offer him a new contract. Even if he did not fit his plans if he had let him leave he could have (at best) got a fee but at worst had a sell on clause (similar to the Chapell situation last year).
Two good signings so far. Both have experience - Briscoe at this level, and Young with over a hundred games for Argyle at just 21 - but hopefully they'll also be hungry with something to prove. Briscoe had a disappointing year last season so should be looking to get back on track, while Young will hopefully want to prove Argyle were wrong to release him.
If these are the sort of signings CH is looking to make then it's a promising start. I just hope he's not too hampered by finances with not being able to shift on those on the transfer list.
The other important thing will be keeping hold of Pearce and Cameron. If we can do that then that is the beginning of a decent starting eleven.
There are many of us Greens who weren't disapointed to see him go.
Perhaps the most inconsistent player I've ever seen, he's either great or woeful, no inbetween.
Unfortunately, Luke still has the same potential he had 2 or 3 years ago, he hasn't really improved at all, while our other youngsters have bulked up and matured, Luke is still an extremely physically weak player to be playing as a CM.
DO NOT PLAY HIM IN A 2 MAN MIDFIELD, unless you have a Gerrard to go next to him, it's a big no no, we tried it many times, and it failed many times. He worked best win situated just ahead of 2 out and out midfielders.
Granted, the lad is superb at Free kicks and can hit a long ranger but you have to question other aspects of his game. While his long range passing is incredible, the simple short ones he just can't do.
Hope he does well but don't get too overwhelmed, he's dropped to the conference because that's probably his level.
Much of the love from Argyle fans is simply because he's a Janner.
So, basically what you are saying is that he's a 21 year old player with faults in his game (therefore not the complete package) - show me any players at this level (Conf or League 2) that are the complete package!!

I think that says more about the managers ability to play someone in their correct position or the correct players in his formation than it does about Young's ability.
He is 21 years old, he won't be the finished article. We are conference club so any player we sign will have their weaknesses, but I would rather the player was a 21 year old who is only likely to.improve than a 33 year old journeyman
