Hello,
I'm completing a book about ex-Football league teams and am looking for non-copyright team photos or action shots at Plainmoor. If you can help please e-mail [email protected] with details. I will acknowledge anything used in the book. Sorry for your demise!

Better get a shift on, hopefully we won't be ex for long! Or does this book include ex-ex-ex-ex football league clubs?

Demise??
Okay....... bad choice of words but it must feel devastating. How about 'temporary demotion?'
So 'Latics', you're a Wigan fan? I wouldn't get too complacent. As soon A Dave Whelan retires you'll be back down with us, battling on muddy pitches in front of a few hundred fans on cold Tuesday evenings just like you used to!
Oldham, and yes I think he's after our help, I can not help, maybe someone else can ?

Not Wigan........... there's only one Latics and that's the original. Does anyone remember a Jim Eden playing for the Gulls in the 60s when John Bond was there?

Don't recall Jim Eden playing for us in the 60's. Big Jim Fryatt spent some time with us before going on to play for Oldham a little later.
Big Jim Fryatt was a cracking player - remember him well.

Yes, Jim Fryatt was a good striker. Unfortunately, it was rumoured that there had been a major falling-out between Fryatt and Robin Stubbs which was so serious that one of them had to go. As Robin Stubbs was one of the best strikers ever to play for the Gulls and is still a legend amongst us older supporters, Jim Fryatt was quickly moved-on. It was a shame as Stubbs was, over a long period, averaging a goal every other game with Fryatt not far behind. What we would give for two similar strikers today!
He's still going today and lives and works on a golf course in Las Vegas.
