Went to the game tonight, was my first game of the season. In Ajala's short spell of being on the field I was very impressed, Bowman looked pretty poor during the beginning but slowly grew in to the game. To be honest, it was a pretty average performance on the whole, the highlight in my opinion was the kit, very smart and the numbering on the back was really nice as well.

The toughest game yet and Plymouth were the the better side but only just McDonald was outstanding for us and looks a good signing very few shot on goal for either side. Downes struggled against their big striker but he still did not let him have a shot on target. The midfield gave the ball away in the first half Harding especially. Cameron was quiet, Bowman won a lot in the air but would have liked to see him with Yeoman again.
In the end a fair result and room for improvement. McDonald on this form could make a starting position his.

My third PSF in 8 days. Argyle were better than Yeovil and Walsall but we did not look bad and at times and put together some very good passing which bodes well for when 3 points are at stake.
Reid and Banton were very dangerous for Argyle. Briscoe looks a decent signing and Downes and Gus were solid in defence.
Luke Young got a great reception from both sets of supporters when he came off injured. Great signing.
Harding may be an important player but he kept getting the ball caught under his feet!! Needs games.
All in all an encouraging start and CH seems to be working the team hard and they all look fit.

Argyle pretty hopeless, totally lacked ideas and were criminally slow on the ball. First half we were under strict instruction to hit Benyon early and it didn't work. We also overloaded the wings, which brought us some joy.
Second half, with the restrictions relaxed, we outclassed Plymouth with some really neat football at times. Cameron had an off day and Morgan got the better of Downer, which made Argyle look a lot better than they were.
We're owed a stonewall penalty from an incident in which I'm convinced the referee forgot who was shooting which way.
Ajala, he'll be off in January. You remember how Jamie Ward looked like he was playing for us by mistake? Yeah, that.
Matt.

I'm puzzled by Ajala, All I read on here are positives, which is great, yet look at his CV and you wonder what has gone wrong for the lad. He has apparently had trials with various 'big' clubs yet has besides a short lived spell at Brizzle Zitty and an even shorter spell with 'Ull he's never made it. I guess he's still young. Perhaps he'll follow the trend of moving to South-Devon and growing up as a footballer and a man. Here's hoping.ferrarilover wrote:Argyle pretty hopeless, totally lacked ideas and were criminally slow on the ball. First half we were under strict instruction to hit Benyon early and it didn't work. I was there, first game I've seen since Fanny Stevens was signed. Gave my season ticket away that day. What have all you Fanny Stevens fans have to say now we're in the Conference? I'm not going to say I told you so, I AM SAYING I TOLD YOU SO.
I'll get out me armchair though and be at Wembley if/when we get to the FA Trophy Final/Play Off Final should it happen soon. I'm getting on in years so I really hope it's soon.

To be fair Trojan, even the Danny Stevens fans didn't expect to see him single-handedly keep us in the League. People might like him as a player, but they aren't completely stupid.Trojan 67 wrote:I was there, first game I've seen since Fanny Stevens was signed. Ah yes, of course. All Danny's fault that we were relegated.
Trojan, you've written some shite in the past but this just may surpass them all.

Can't help feeling little ol Danny did his best and had the odd good game. But hey don't take my word, for it just ask the 1000's that watched the televised FA cup match against Yeovil. Seemed pretty up of it that day.
