yyeeessss. Another win for the new boys. Now this is a good result.Wrexham are a strong team. in where it matters. and yet we came back from behind and have won. This is the measure of the team gelling and going places. Seems as if Youngy has stated his place early for player of the season. goal of the season. Young player of the season and so many other accolades. if my memory serves me right. yongy has scored the best goals seen at Plainmoor this season if not in several seasons. oh what a coup this has turned out to be by CH
Still worried abuut our discipline but lets forget that tonight. its time to celebrate for one day. cooommmmeee oonnnnn yououooo yyyyeeelllllooooowwwwwsssssss

Normal service is resumed....thankfully.
I was beginning to get depressed reading some of the "we're doomed" posts on here after two defeats on the bounce.

oh boy. is that statement totaly different from when it was being mentioned all the time last season. Normal service for us was defeat snatched from the jaws of Victory. Now its victory snatched from the jaws of defeatScott Brehaut wrote:Normal service is resumed....thankfully.

statistics make this look a one sided match. yet corners were pretty even with 6 to us and 5 to Wrexham. But our 19 shots with 6 on target tells of an assault on their goal to make the D day landings look tame. But Wrexham had 10 shots themselves so we didn't have it all our own way. But shots tell the story of a successfull team. the more you shoot the more chance is that some will go in. Why we didn't learn that last season is beyond me. But we are where we are. if we can keep that up we will be right up where it counts at the end of the season.
Seems as if they are talking about Youngys goal being the best goal ever at plainmoor. Yet wasn't that the accolade given to Youngy only a few matches ago. if he keeps this up he will be top of all charts for best goal ever at Plainmoor. for life. taking top ten places. now that will be a record to see

looking at my assertion of bookings going up all round. 8 were booked in Derbys match in the championship. several had 4 to 6 bookings orient and yoevil boih had 8 booked in thier match with one sent off in the yoevil match. there are plenty of other examples to back up my claim.

Don't fret! We are 2nd but shown in 3rd place on alphabetical order, which counts for jack shit at the end of the season. Ourselves and Halifax have identical records, W8 D3 L3 F25 A 12 GD 13 Pts 27. As we will undoubtedly do the double over Halifax their trump of an H to our T won't matter!Glostergull wrote:odd. the live player has just dropped us to 3rd. when we were clearly 2nd. how Halifax got above us is beyond me when they are 3-1 down. all 4 teams in 27 points

what would happen at the end of the season if our record was still identical. It could be the difference who gets who in the playoffs or even who gets promoted. Say Halifax was top and we were second. all statistics indentical yet they were top doe to alphabetical order. would there be a play off to see who got in the playoffs and who went up. leaving the losing team to play off again

Basically yes. Head to head would come into the equation, but if everything was identical then there would be a play off. Extremely unlikely over 46 games, but not impossible. Anyway we'll sort the head to head with a double over the Northern pretenders! We had some good wins at the Shay way back whenGlostergull wrote:what would happen at the end of the season if our record was still identical. Firstly, massive respect to Hargreaves and Hodges, lets not make a mistake here, they had a massive job to do at half time. To be fair leading up to the Wrexham goal the game was pretty even, both sides enjoying possession and creating chances, the goal, sadly another Ricey screw up seemed to knock our team right out of it's stride, the wheels completely fell of in the 15 minutes before half time, when our team couldn't pass 3 yrds to each other, we conspired to head the ball out for a Wrexham corner, all over the place, amongst other things.
Second half, the difference was night and day, what was said to our team at half time had an effect, defence tightened up, we got the ball down, started finding feet, put together some sweet passing moves, created chances, and what followed a well taken goal from Briscoe, was as good a goal as you'll ever see, what a strike from Luke Young, who had been unlucky hitting the wood work from a previous free kick.
All in all a good day at the office, massive win in the grand scheme of things, and clearly a very relieved Ricey at the full time.
