Or could be that Shaun North, fine bloke and coach though he is, has more or less stayed at the same level, while Paul Buckle has moved onwards and upwards.. ;-)

Hmm ...... not the start to his new managerial career that he would have wanted - a defeat by part-time Dover. Well done to Dover - makes our away draw look respectable.

Seriously think that Cheltenham could be Conference bound this season unless they start getting a few wins. I would say the transfer window is going to be a very important time for Buckle.

I've never liked or rated Buckle. There are reasons why we did well under his leadership but I prefer to think it was in spite of him not because of him. He has a small contact list but a huge ego so I'm expecting him to fall flat on his arse just like he has elsewhere.

According to the Chelts forum he's been given the boot although not confirmed by the club yet. It was in the Gloucestershire Echo i think.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Probably wasn't given enough money.

Or missed getting his end away with his drop dead gorgeous wife.

She's only down the road from me. I can keep her warm.

When they say mutual consent, point of order here, just to put Gulscorer's mind at rest, did both Buckle and Cheltenham sign the consent form, dread to think what could happen if either side was a victim of a false accuser.

Er.. wrong. He did very well in his short period at Luton, had them challenging for promotion and a big FA Cup run including a historic win at Norwich, before resigning to move to USA with his wife, where he was also a big success (albeit in a major coaching job rather than management). He then resigned to take the Cheltenham job.

In the short periods he was at Bristol Rovers and Cheltenham, he never really had a fair chance to make his mark. Some clubs' owners/chairmen are too impatient and want almost instant success. Football rarely works out that way. And before anybody says his predecessor had a hand in his success at Luton, by the same token it could certainly be said that his predecessors at Rovers and Cheltenham had their hands in his lack of success there.

Not wrong at all. He did get sacked at Luton when he couldn't maintain their promotion push.
