Who?

Post by Sam97_ »

Excuse me if someone has started this thread, and feel free to delete it if it's already here.

So say CH was sacked, who would everyone have in? I think there is enough quality in the squad to finish the season stronger, this is the same team that played every team off the park at the beginning of the season...
Keep the faith.

Who would you players want? You must of course be as if you think there is quality in our side you are not watching it from where we are! ;-)

One of the ones in your MOTM selection I would guess. Best of luck with the rest of your career. Not an easy start! Hopefully in a couple of hours I will wake up and find that the last two years have been a nightmare! ;-)

Leroy of course. He should ALWAYS be manager. Preached football from the gods.

Do you mean which manager? For me one of Ling/Sturrock or Harrop, all reasonable options imo.

I would have gone with Pep Guardiola at least he brought a Barca style of play.

How unimaginative we all are. All those replies and all ex-(and to a greater or lesser extent failed) managers. Bar Sturrock.

How about someone, you know, good?

I'll pretend I didn't read that. Good doesn't begin to describe Sir Leroy.

Got us promoted automatically (with Roy Macs team blah, blah, blah). Got fired for failing to keep us up - despite there being virtually zero intent from above to make it happen.

He did it all on his own too. 'Signings' were the result of x-factor style summer trials. All our managers since have been blessed in comparison.

And the football was sublime. I don't recall seeing ANY team at League 2 level playing with the swagger that team did.

Yeah, he was no good.

I said they all had, to a certain extent, failed.

Leroy was not sacked for failing to keep us up, he was sacked for leading us into a league 2 relegation scrap the following year.

He was a good coach who ran out of steam. Not what would be required at present.

I would sweet talk Sturrock into taking over for the next month just to organise and steady the ship, allowing a more progressive coach to be employed at seasons end.

He was working under the kind of constraints that would have given our subsequent managers serious sleep issues.

You're right though, we should look elsewhere. We don't deserve him after that '10 minute fiasco'.
